It's a poor argument to be fair. Deila's record is now indefensible, apart from being up there with Mowbray now, he has also managed to alienate himself from half the team going on.

The argument they are clinging onto now ( Deila apologists ), goes like I didn't get my hole at the dancing the night, but I might get lucky next week :smiley-laughing002: FFS

Molde have proven themselves time and again.

Also if football were played on paper Leicester City wouldn't be top of the Premiership.

That was my point. They have lesser players but are a better team. Much like we have beaten Barca, Milan Man U etc. in the past.

Fair enough but I'd take a good 3 or 4 players out their team straight away.

Elyonoussi would arguably be our best and most creative outlet straight away, Linnes looks a solid RB, Forren I'd have ahead of Boyata, Singh the centre mid looks a decent player.

Not to mention Kamara the striker who ran us ragged.

Like I said, the gap between us and them is not big at all. I'd not go into a game against a side like them and expect a win, put it that way.

Whether that's just me being a pessimist or a sign of the times..who knows. I'd suggest the latter.

If and when we replace him we will only sign a manager out off work, we won't pay the compensation to the likes off Norwich for example for Alex Neil even if he wanted to come to celtic. The only people we could attract without the compensation would be the likes off Ryan giggs at man utd, guys like that their club might let go because he served the club so well. I'd imagine Roy keane might be another in a job we would be linked too. But that brings you back to the meeting before ronny joined with keane, word was keane turned us down cause we had no budget.

So that brings us to today's predicament, if were are to replace the manager weather we win the treble or not, should we not get someone in now to get his stamp on the team before the vital champions league qualifers next season. He would also have the January window to bring 'his' players to the club.

If you think off it if we struggle to get a manager off any pedigree now, what type off manager will we attract if we sack ronny if he fails to qualify for the champions league.

Deila is not cut out for out foxing a team equal to or better than us. He cant organise his side properly. His European failure costs us players. What is the benefit to Celtic of keeping him here?

Had Berget not had a loan spell with us you might well covet him based on his performances for Malmo

We just need a manager who gets the structure of the team right, treats the players right ( no favorites), and knows a bit about tactics ( and ideally scraps the zone marking). Not asking for much really, the players will take care of the rest if you get the basic format right. Call me old fashioned if you like but I also like a Celtic manager who is Celtic minded, what is that ? someone who knows the mentality of the club and its support. Not asking for much. Personally I think Alan Stubbs fits that bill, I like the cut of his jib.

    Probably justifiably so as well.

I'm not going to put the guy down when he was able to almost single handedly * us out with 2 away goals.

He was thrown into the side at the worst possible time and was a scape goat during Deila's early time here. Nowhere near as bad as folk made out.

Venglos I admire a man who does his own thinking and I have particular respect for how you rub the hipsters up the wrong way but I couldnt disagree more. I think Stubbs could actually be a fine manager in the making but we should not be hiring anymore rookies. We need an experienced manager. It's Moyes all day long. He would be outstanding as our manager.

No I don't think so. Lambert wouldn't have joined us anyway I think, he has got bigger fish to fry than us. But Lambert is the wrong guy to quote with me because I don't rate him, never have. Is Steve Clark not still available too ?

I find it rare that you dont like Moyes when you normally have a hard on for everything Scottish.

I told you before why I don't like Moyes, but I won't repeat it in open forum because I would probably get a warning.

Lenny the rookie did rather well didn't he? Stubbs has a wee bit more managerial experience than Lenny.

I am willing to bet my bottom dollar that Steve Clarke would have got us by Molde, Malmo, Legia Warsaw etc. He has a very good pedigree, vast experience, big Celtic man too, and light years ahead of Deila.
