I'll never give up on the Dolphins but we're not very good - why on earth did they go for a short kick there?

Even at the start, fumbling the ball into the end zone, it's just depressing sometimes, coupled with our tough schedule it's going to be another long season :54:

They had to go for the onsides kick, if they hadn't San Diego would have just wasted more time going the length of the field. It's kind of a case where even though the odds are against you, if you kick it long you are pretty much assured defeat. If it had been only a one score game at that time then yea, they should have kicked it long, but they needed two scores.

I've been watching the Dolphins for several years now, but it's only recently that I started really getting in to the sport after going to the Dolphins Giants game in London, I'll make it over to Miami for a Dolphins game eventually.

Miami's a cool place, everybody should go there. It's like the East Coast version of Las Vegas. There's loads of sketchy places there though, a lot of gang and gun violence in the bad parts.

The polls at this point are always a joke. :31: All I can say about the ISU game is that it's a rivalry thing

The AP will always be there because it exists to hype games up at this point, but I wish the Coaches would follow the Harris poll and start 6 weeks in.
What I'd love to know is why Oklahoma jumped OSU the week following -- not OSUs loss -- but USCs' loss to UW.
Nevermind that BYU (OUs' loss) got the * beat out of them by... oh... yeah... FSU: who isn't ranked now either.

OU Love is getting out of hand.
Sooners deserve same treatment as Buckeyes - Big Ten - ESPN

edit: I wasn't sure about the ISU game. Iowa actually curb-stomped ISU 35-3. It was Northern Iowa that they narrowly defeated 17-16. Does that make it better or worse ?? I haven't a clue... but at least you could say with victories over ISU, Arizona, and PSU... they've got a better start than, for example, Oklahoma. Who lost to BYU at home. (am I harping on this too much yet? :icon_mrgreen:)

Come on McNaka... that game against BYU was at a [sarcasm] NEUTRAL [/sarcasm] site :)rolleyes:). And yea, I got my Iowas mixed up, but that makes it worse. Northern Iowa isn't even D1-A... I mean... FBS.

Looking at the rankings again... I actually think Iowas spot is justified. OK, they had a scare in the first game ... but they're still undefeated. Which is something you can't say for VT, USC, OU, OSU... all ahead of them. They've also already faced 3 BCS-conf opponents (something most of the Top-10 can't say as we've all beat up on sisters of the poor). If they had started out in the top-10... we both know they'd still be around 5 or 6 right now.

As it is, they're also behind Cinci, TCU, and Houston. Not like any of them have impressed more. Besides Kansas and Michigan... who else should be up there ? I'm thinkings USF, Wisconsin, UCLA, and Missouri.

Grats! Also belated congratulations on Fresno State.

It was a great weekend. My old high school (which just snapped a 36 game losing streak last year) also won to go to 4-1.

So Celtic, Bengals, Bearcats and Walnut Hills all win in the same weekend and Rangers drop points and the Bengals win was over Pittsburgh........can't really get any better than that.

Cincy up to 11 in the coaches poll, don't know bout the AP.

At least the Pats looked half-way decent today. Still too many dropped and over thrown passes but I'll take the win over a quality team.

I gotta give it to Arizona. They're either stupid lucky or genius. 3rd and 1 on the 9... with two great running backs... and they go 4 wide and throw a TD.

Some scathing comments from NBCs' Mike Florio during the Arizona - Indy game.

    Disappointing weekend for Tech fans

Lose to a CUSA team and now our All American LB/captain is suspended for issues with the coach :31::31::31:

I never like to see players injured, but an injury to Pennington could be a blessing in disguise for the sushi bombers.
Henne is a chicken but at least he's got an arm to stretch the field*. Penningtons YPA is like 5 yards or something, and his long is just 20 yards ! That's * poor. With that gameplan they may as well just play a triple option with Pat White as a glorified running back.
If they can stretch the field* do that then they might be able to actually score a few TDs.

*and * knows they have a WR born to do exactly that  I wish I could think of a former 5th round draft pick QB playing as a backup in the NFL that can get the ball to just such a WR... the kind of guy that maybe has chemistry going all the way back to HS...

While I'm on a soapbox of certain players being misused and retarded gameplans.... Arizona. *. Did those morons not watch any tape of the Miami - Indy game ?? Or any tape on Indy at all ?? They've got 2 awesome RBs... and decide to throw it all day... something like 10 running plays. Against Indy ffs. Good game dumbfucks.

Just got done watching the Browns v. Ravens game I DVR'ed , HOLY * HOW BAD ARE THE BROWNS????

If we don't beat them by 20 I will be livid.

That being said, we will most likely snub out a 3 point win.

    WHO-DEY!!!!
