I don't really get the grudge people hold against him for moving on?

His attitude may be a problem tho he would need to come here with a fresh one or he could upset the dressing room, especially if Commons gets * off with lack of game time they could be a difficult duo to contend with.

A risk worth taking as he has the quality?

Lots of 'If's' the biggest one is the drop in wages, that's why it's a non-starter for me.

I * hate this opinion. The guy gave his all for us here and thought he needed to move to England to get into the England team. He was clearly being overlooked while he was here, as is VVD now. He was Norwich's top goalscorer two seasons ago after being injured at a bad time when he signed for them.

I watched the last derby against Rangers the other day there and he was phenomenal.

I can't believe how petty some people are being, he left us so what? He gave us 3 great seasons . I would bite your hand off for 8 mill plus hooper for van dijk.

I could see it possibly happening because of their promotion, but nothing more than that.

For 3 million and Hooper I would bite your hand off, take it to dinner, buy it some flowers, then ride the * of your hand.

VVD is good, but when did he become this good....can anybody remember how good Hoops was for us?

8 million plus Hooper is fair, we should be valuing Van Dijk at 12 million.

That's a value of roughly £6m in my eyes. We sold hooper for £5.5m. His stock has definitely fallen over the last couple of years. So I think he would cost around £3m. VVD is worth far more than £6m because he will break into that Dutch national team when he does get a move to the Premiership and he's young enough to vastly improve. £6m and hooper plus a 20% sell on fee for any profit made would be the deal i would be looking at.

£10m and we'll take hooper off there over inflated wage bill. Sorted. Doing then a favour.

Exactly this. People have short memories. The guy wanted to go back to England and see if he could get into the national team to play at international level. Can't hold it against him it's not as if he had one season and requested a transfer. He bagged goals against the Huns, scored in games we looked like not scoring in at all, gaining us valuble points, and scored in Europe more than most of our current strikers have.

If he wants back, we can get him for a good enough deal, and he buys into the 'top-athlete' mentality we now have, then we'd be a far better team at the end of it.

I honestly just don't see the point in bringing back a player who wanted to go (whatever the reason was for leaving), that's all. Frankly, it's a punt either way: buy a striker we don't know much about, or bring back Hooper who may have gone off the boil over the last couple of years ...

    Broony!
When we bought him he was hungry and aiming to prove Spurs wrong - by doing well with is and earning a move!
He's now had his shot at the 'big time' (aka most overrated league in the world) and didn't cut it!
His chance has gone IMO and, as such, his hunger may have gone along with it.
For that reason, more than any, it's a huge risk!!!!

I don't want Hooper as part of any deal.

Just sheer cash will do. I doubt he'd be interested in Norwich, what a depressing move that would be.

Well maybe your not taking into account that Lawell did sell the spine of our squad and that Hooper might have been pushed out. So I don't think we should have any hard feelings towards him, he thought he could get an England place ,hopefully he's learned his lesson.

Pretty sure Hooper was not pushed out. In fact, he wanted away before & we kept him for the Juventus games.
