    This is my feeling.

One of my favourite Celtic players of recent times.

33 year old who never had much pace at his best whos not played regualrly in 18 month and has always struggled with fitness.

In our team he'd only be able to play behind the striker and Rogic offers a lot more, i'd also imagine Sinclair, Forrest and Roberts would be picked before him there and even Armstrong and McGregor too who still have the legs for it.

He's somewhat of a burden really, hogging a wage. If he's not in the champions league squad ( I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench if we were trying to * a draw or win) then what's the point in him being here, certainly don't need him for the league. It's a shame the way his Celtic career has went but thems the breaks I suppose. Was always gonny be hard to shift him with an injury, probably be gone in January

He doesn't appear to be in the CL squad so obviously not in the managers plans

To be fair Celtic gave guys like him a contract so you can't blame them for playing it out.

I'm sorry but it's a bit of a disgrace that Armstrong, GMS and Ciftci have all made the squad before Commons.

I tend to agree with this, but obviously Rodgers knows a lot more than we do about the game, so I guess we just have to trust him.

Aye that's true, not really blaming him, was thinking the club should of made more of an effort to move him on if he wasn't going to be in the managers plans, maybe sent him on loan paying a percentage of his wage at least. He's maybe said no thanks to that though.

I said when he was appointed Rodgers wouldn't have time for Commons regardless of his scoring record.

Nah it's bad judgement there's no other argument imo.

    GMS and Armstrong over Commons?

Bordering on Ronny levels of madness.

Kris Commons is by all accounts almost fit btw, so it's not as if he has a long term injury or anything.

Besides having far greater ability than those two put together Commons also has fight and passion and the right winning mentality to play for us over those two.

It's really a no brainer tbh and I have to disagree with Brendan on this massively.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Commons is being judged on his 'supposed' bad behaviour/attitude under Ronny over these last couple of seasons, that's the only thing I can put it down to.

    Its not bad judgement.

We have main two strikers, Cifcti is needed.

Armstrong can play a variety of positions and GMS hasn't had a chance to prove himself under Rodgers.

Commons is pish, he would be an absolute liability starting any game, the only hope he offers is coming on with 5 minutes to go when you need a goal. That being the case, it is a much better option to have a space for someone who can potentially make a difference throughout the 90 minutes rather than adding him in for a very specific situation.

Its probably just down to him not being able to get fit and play the style we want.

Commons would make an XL top look like a diving suit and hes only about 5ft 6 :smiley-laughing002:

    Stopped reading your nonsense here.
Would you have Commons in your MF before GMS and Armstrong?

Mate, being a better player (which he definitely is) doesn't make him a better option for a given team. I'm as shocked as you are that GMS made the squad ahead of him, but at the end of the day I trust Brendan to pick the best team and system to give us the best chance possible.

Roberts, Sinclair, Forrest, Brown, Bitton, McGregor id have as our first choice 6 midfielders then i'd go Christie, Henderson, Ajer and Armstrong then lastly GMS and Commons. So Commons would be 11th choice

Commons would be my 6th choice striker though before Ciftci but after Griffiths, Dembele, Sinclair, Christie and Roberts.
