Overall I think we played *. Missed loooooaaaaaadsa chances. I'm just happy to be through though, so no blame to any individual.
The midfield were to blame for most of it, failing to cover the defence. Naylor looked better in the second half, but I'm * now and I'll sing no more til I've had a drink.

I agree. Spartak are technically better than us and have 2 or 3 incredible world class players that could have sunk us, especially the right winger who was sensational. He must be the best right winger in the world. The ebb and flow of the match was incredible and I thought we were sunk when it went to penaltys. It was an absolute classic of football how it should be played. We didnt play to our very best and guys like Naka, JVOH, Naylor and Skippy dissapointed a bit. Skippy missed a couple of real sitters and you cant do that at this level. Shades of Kenny about him and I think we miss Kenny. Thought Artur, Wilson, Mick and Gary were superb and Brown, Donati and Aidan did well considering they had to concentrate on defending more than usual. We almost had them in the last 20 minutes of normal time when we were all over them but both teams were wrecked in extra time. Job done and this new and young team will get better. Its still only our 6th game. Cheers for the great match Spartak. You gave the best performance any visiting team has done against Celtic in the champions league. Your style of football was superb at times. Good luck and hope you get to the UEFA final like we did a few years ago.
