Thought he looked * awful against hearts but better yesterday. Hope I was too quick to judge.

Darren O'Dea is a free agent, if were looking to go down the Irish route.. not impressed by O'Connell at all.

My biggest concern over him was his distribution, and that is still a concern. We were fortunate not to be 1-0 down when the boy intercepted a poor pass from him early on and hit the bar. He was a lot better yesterday though, I will say that.

He done well yesterday, looked a bit more confident with the ball at his feet. Hopefully we can see a bit more of him this season and he can progress into a good defender for us.

I like the sound of that....anyone who shouts at Ambrose to sort it out gets a plus in my book :50:

Yes I thought he had a very solid game yesterday. The time he is getting and spot starts is great for his development. It will be interesting to see how he does over the next couple of years. We are certainly not overly deep in the center back department so it would be great to see him really push on and do well for Celtic.

He did better yesterday than what I've seen before and even his passing was not bad. That said he really has to improve his distribution, he gave a few balls away that almost cost us.

He just needs to learn to keep it simple play the easy ball to Virgil or a short pass to a midfielder and concentrate on his defending..

Looked much better against St Mirren...

Was never impressed with him but thought he was excellent on saturday. Always looking for the ball and wanting to play out from the back and seems like he would be a future captain with his leadership.Only dodgy thing is he seems to make nervous swipes whenever the ball bounces in front of him if that makes any sense.

Another young player with decent potential and as stated above hopefully will be used as back-up to Denayer and VVD so we can get rid of Ambrose.

I see he's just signed a new two year deal, keeping him at the club until 2017.

The coaching staff must see something in him in that case. We've only got 3 natural CB's at the club... One is a loan, one is a bombscare and the other is being chased by half the Premier League so the chance for him to really make his mark might come soon.

I rate the guy I must say. Disappointed he didn't get a chance in the absence of Denayer.

Played well today.. Think this may have been the first time I've seen him play competitively.. Didn't look out of place at all.. comfortable with the ball at his feet too, which was good to see.
