Celtic deprived of right to realise true potential by club’s birthplace.

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by LoveTheTic88, Mar 28, 2014.

  1. Within a few years they'll pick their game up. They're too big a club not to.

To enjoy watching Celtic over a full league campaign I need competition, simple as that. If some Saudi billionaire bought Dundee United then I'd be interested, as we'd have someone to challenge us.

Outwith that happening I'll still be watching the odd league game when I have nothing else going on, catching the highlights mostly, and watching our Champions League and domestic cup ties.

  2. Very true! :smiley-laughing002:

  3. They really won't, they died trying to match us last time. With all there overspending etc. The phoenix club is * dying just now. They won't challenge.

That just means you're a part timer, I literally can't understand it. If you're not interested, you can't claim to be a supporter. I don't doubt you used to be but now? Nah, definitely not.

  4. Apart from the fact that I'm overseas anyway, so I don't attend many games now, I can still claim to be a Celtic supporter. Just because I'm not like that Celtic fan parody on only an excuse doesn't mean I'm not a supporter.

I still pay for Celtic TV, buy the merchandise and suchlike. That's supporting the club, isn't it? Thus, I'm a supporter.

I'm just not as good a supporter as you it would seem :86:

  5. Are you interested in Celtic in the main competition?

  6. The Champions League? You're * right I am!

  7. I wasn't aware we played more Champions League games than we did SPFL.

  8. You asked about the main competition. The Champions League is the main competition. The domestic league isn't a competition at all, it's a formality.

  9. No, it's not. The biggest bulk of our history and our current campaign is the League, it always is and always will be the main competition. The Champions League isn't competition either because we have absolutely no * hope of winning it.

But carry on being a part timer if you want, just shut the * up whining about it eh?

  10. Do you think the domestic league is nothing more than a formality at the present time?

  11. I think that's extremely disrespectful to the others in the league. I think if we treated it as a formality we wouldn't win it. Do I think that we are far and away favourites, yes. Do I think it would a herculean effort and a collapse from us for another team to win it? Yes.

Am I * loving our dominance of the domestic game? Yes. Do I love winning the league? Yes. Do I love watching us in the league? Still yes.

    * sake, couple of years without the Huns and our * fans are pining for the arseholes. * them.

  12. I'll take that as a yes then :icon_mrgreen:

  13. I'm not feeling the love on here today :54:

Come on WE WON THE LEAGUE AGAIN .. :50:

  14. If you'll read back, you'll notice you and Sean Daleer are ones who keep bringing up the huns.

  15. Ah so you are talking about the times we had competition who weren't Rangers?

The thread started out talking about joining EPL or the formation of a new Euro league. It had nothing to with Rangers. Yet somehow we're all obsessed with them. :97:

  16. Just because people miss competition doesn't mean they miss rangers...

  17. When have we ever had competition outwith them?

  18. Well the club certainly isn't advertising itself very well today. If the fans could come out for one game, then surely it should be today.

Saying that, sadly the main reason Celtic find themselves in this situation is money, pure and simple. There is a giant imbalance in most leagues in Europe, between the top teams and the rest. But Celtics situation is worse than the rest because the Scottish league is so small, poor etc.

The only solution for Celtic is joining the Premier League whether that can ever happen or not. And it will happen eventually, whether its next year or in 50 years.

But the longer it goes without happening, the attendance will drop and drop and drop.
