Scottish Cup: Celtic v Aberdeen (Saturday 8th February, 12:45)

Defeat is hard to take but it would be alot easier if our team looked as if they wanted to win . We were so bad today

 

The more time that passes, the more gutted I become. FS.

 

Aberdeen deserved to win today but I don't understand why Samaras and why Matthews played after being out injured. Thought Griffiths should of started alongside Balde. Also thought that Biton should of got a start and I felt the subs could of being made earlier; especially when it was so clear that we were being outplayed. Boerrigter should have came on earlier!

 

I know samaras put in that great ball but apart from that he was * stinking!

 

You're right mate, Matthews is a fantastic right back but Fisher did absolutely nothing to be dropped, the young bhoy must be more upset than most today.
Quite apart from the fact that Adam hasn't played in ages, Fisher simply shouldn't have been dropped. Lenny was probably thinking of the boy (I think Hayes'?) pace but Matthews isn't much faster than Fisher in all honesty so that was a mistake dropping him.

Apart from that though, and playing Sammy who simply doesn't give a *, Lenny isn't to blame. The players absolutely shat it.

Celtic were never gonna win this game.
Cup final in our own stadium? Far too good to be true. Of course we had to * it up.

Congratulations to Aberdeen though, hope they do the double now - they've gotta be massive favourites for it. They will utterly pump Sevco if they draw them.

 

He shouldn't play again. He's had twice as many chances as a lot of other player would have and, overall, he's been * poor. Some good moments and great performances, particularly in Europe last season, but he clearly isn't interested anymore and wants to be somewhere else by the looks of it.

Let his contract run down and show him the door the minute it's up.

 

Samaras shouldn't kick another ball for us until the league is won. If he's leaving in the summer we can give him a couple of games at the end of the season so he can say his goodbyes to the fans. Other than that I would have him nowhere near the first team for the rest of this season.

 

Totally agree with the lot of that,the team we had out was without doubt good enough to win that match but they showed nothing whatsoever..
Going through the motions in a home cup game against the second best team in the country is not acceptable and too many were guilty of it today!
Fisher 100% should have started,he would haveat least took Hayes and ball today and has been on a settled run in the team,it just didn't make sense for me today and our right was a real weak link because of it,they totally exposed it numerous times..

I've had enough of the 0% effort he has for the majority of games, especially in the last few months, i can't take it....thanks sammy but cheerio!

 

Yes he was and more importantly why play a guy who isn't going to be here in a few months time,and I totally agree with your earlier point about Mathews young Fisher hasn't put a foot wrong and should have started

 

Fisher's contract expires when Sammy's does, neither have signed an extension yet. But you want to play Fisher and not Samaras? Odd.

 

Fisher's form has shaded the last couple of weeks, but Matthews was clearly not fit, even before the knock he took in the first half.

That has to be the final nail with Lenny and Sammy today,has to be!

 

Honestly some people's defence of the Greek myth on here is what's * odd is he beyond criticism now,my point with Fisher was Matthews was clearly not 100% where as with Samaras he picks and chooses when he's going to give 100%

I'd suggest that 'if' fisher has'nt signed a contract ,it's because he want's to play football,not sit on the bench(i.e today).....
Whereas sammy is wanting more money...or to go somewhere sunny..does'nt matter which ,cos he's certainly not putting the effort in.....

The way the team played in general today though ,fisher certainly would't have made the difference.

 

Went out and did a whole slew of things after the game.

Now that I'm back home, sitting down, I feel really disappointed again.

What a shockingly bad result for a club that was playing SO well.

BE HONEST THOUGH:

Who here TRULY felt a sick feeling in the pit of their stomach, whether yesterday, or earlier today, or whenever? I did. Obviously, you don't know what's gonna happen, but still ... you ALMOST *knew* a loss was in the cards. It's almost scary.

This happens so often with this club in meaningful games. Year after year.

Amazing.

 

Yeah, just think ... Sevco could be there.

It makes me physically sick.

 

They'll be out of business by May, don't worry.

 

Simply not good enough.

Time for changes.
