Super Joe Ledley

Discussion in 'World Football' started by jpr21, Jan 31, 2014.

  1. Cheerio Joe. Good luck at Palace. I reckon you should have stayed at Celtic and signed a new contract. However you wanted to move on as is your right. Thanks for the memories, they are good. I will always consider you a bhoy (or in this case a former.....)

That's one way to look at it.

Joe left now so we would get money even though he would get less wages. The man is a saint, i like it. :celt_2:

  5. It's hard to get these players that only want to play in the EPL to stay. He said himself in his interview that he's done the champions league now so now the EPL.

    Good luck to him.

  6. * exactly mate, brilliant man, will continue to support him wherever he goes. Good Luck Joe! :50:

  7. No club will ever be able to keep a player who is coming to the end of his contract and doesn't want to stay so getting some money in for him is a bonus.

    Good luck to him. :50:

Aye Joe cheers for that :97: :56::56:

  9. Joe , Wanyama and Hooper.. who can blame these guys for wanting to play in a better league. If our ground was packed every week with a great atmosphere maybe we could tempt some to stay... but...

but the great nights are few and far between. away grounds are normally less than half full. Week to week it must be a bit of a grind for players... the EPL has more glamour matches ( but also a few drab ones ).

I wish all of the above players well in their careers -- non of them held us to ransom or put in transfer requests... and always gave their best on the park. Big Fraser and VVD will be the next ones to go... hopefully we get decent fees and invest in some quality

  10. That night he rocketed that header v the Huns it was orgasmic at Parkhead.

  11. I wish you all the best at Palace Joe..good luck :shamrock:

  12. Loved that night :shamrock:

We absolutely bossed them * on the pitch if I remember correctly

  13. Not too upset at this tbh, I knew that was his final game on Wednesday. He played out of his skin, got a goal and a wonderful assist and gave a MOTM performance in a meaningless run on the mill game. Why? He was offski.

Thanks for the memories, not least what will always be reffered to as the "Joe Ledley Derby Game" but at the end of the day we've got 2.5 million for someone who we bought for free and would have lost for free, we won't miss him.

    Good luck Joe

Not said this about a player leaving in * knows how long but I really am devastated to see this guy leave. I don't know what went on behind the scenes to try and get him to stay, so I can only say good luck.

I thought he would have stayed till the end of his career tbh.

  17. They had zero chances

that was the night that storm hit glasgow I was up in row zz LL upper (the highest) you could feel the wind on your back and when that goal went in I thought the place was coming down

  18. No he won't. He's been a really good and consistent player for us but he's not an outstanding goalkeeper like Forster, an inspirational captain like Brown, or a superb goalscorer like Hooper. Midfield is by far our strongest position and we only have about 4 meaningful games between now and the CL qualifiers.
We don't need Joe at all. He was never a stand out player for us in Europe either, although of course like everyone else he was fantastic when we beat Barca.

I'm sure one of the big scoreboards fecking fell down that night, was * myself the game would get cancelled.

Fantastic night. You're right they barely got out their own half. Think we battered them 4 or 5 times that season.
