It could be argued that he was given a second chance. The twitter comment, then that was followed by the Skacel song. Was it not Lennon who said the club had a zero tolerance regarding racism and that the player would be shown the door? Forget the Club's past for a minute, I wanted him gone after the Skacel incident because I found his actions completely unacceptable, not anything to do with the Club, The Club's past, and the Club he supports past, simply made the incident all the more moronic.

That only works if people want to be educated.

He joined in with a group of supporters singing a stupid song. It doesn't mean he's a vile racist, it means he's a stupid *.

I've sang the Nacho Novo song numerous times pished in a pub as well as many others but then I'm clearly not holier than thou and deserve to be flogged at the stake. You're apparently not allowed to be silly at any point in your life any more...

I think he was just a daft wee laddie who wanted to be part of the crowd he was with. He definitely seems to have knuckled down more recently and has put in some pretty decent performances.

Nowhere have I said he is a vile racist, feel free to point out if I have though. I would say he started the song as opposed to joined in also. If the video evidence is anything to go by of course.

He clearly didn't learn from his previous mistake, so what is to say he won't drag the club through the mud again in the future. He will have been warned I would imagine when he signed, given his "* off back to your own country" Twitter remark, but he obviously didn't learn from that. For me, he should have been shown the door, and I stand by that. Going by what Lennon said regarding the Club's stance, he should be gone.

I have always thought one of the great cornerstones of our wonderful club was its openess to all. When have we turned our backs on fellow supporters , players and management .

Agree with this I don't like the way some people are whitewashing what he done but I definitely think he's turned a corner and deserves his chance

Agree that was a very good gesture. However, that doesn't really have anything to do with whether he is going to sing xenophobic songs or make racist remarks on Twitter in the future. The point was that we should be educating him, rather than isolating him. That only works though if the person in question wants to be educated. He clearly didn't learn before, so what is to say he has learned from his mistakes now.

Murphy88, how do you know he clearly didn't learn before , so what is to say he has learned from his mistakes now . He may not have reached the high standards that you have set for yourself , but if the world was full of self acclaimed saints it may be a rather boring place.

Maybe he should come out and publicly apologise then, seeing as he has now been officially arrested.

If our club has the values it says it has, they should be encouraging him to do so.

Ahh, I'll bite, why no. Well, he made the racist remark when he told the guy to "* off back to his own country" on Twitter, then he was then videod singing "Rudi Skacel is a * refugee" some time after the Twitter incident. In your honest opinion, does that suggest to you that he learned from his mistake?

Now ill admit i dont know the time scale for both events but it takes time for some events to come to light and it may have been some time before someone sat down with him and said...look you muppet...it also may have been a while before it sunk in how stupid his action were and what it may cost him in life.
The guy even thought about ending it all so for long enough he must have been in a rather dark place.

Only time will show if he has learnt from his past and i think the least we could do is give him some time and maybe a little support instead of hounding him and abusing him for buying some trainers.
