My dads been down here easily 35 plus years and some still can't understand him :56: and it's the same with his side and my old dears..

The reason why I've never lived in Scotland but talk with a broad Glaswegian accent even though I speak with a London one everyday, more so..
And I'll never lose either one,no matter where I live..

Who was the Scottish guy that used to present sports on itv, think he was an old Scottish footballer and talked with a posh English accent...
Was it bob something? * can't mind,I was told years ago the guy was pure Scottish and couldn't believe it when I heard him speak..

Edit:sure he was a Scotland goalkeeper, this is gonna bug me..

Bit like me, where I am from people think I have a weird accent, but people who aren't from this area say I sound a lot like everyone else. I just don't use all the stupid words and phrases.

I had a broad Austrailan accent when I was wee, moved back here at 8, took about 2 years for a Scottish accent to take over.

Still have a wee twang when talking to Aussies though.

Kevin Gallacher speaks like hes English, the old Scotland striker.

So does the guy from Sky Sports News, I mind I called him a fat English * or something on here and it was pointed out he was Scottish. Dont know his name but the guy that does the transfers all the time.

    That guy

Theres no excuse for it, my ma's mates have lived in San francisco for about 25 years and sounds like they've never left Dublin at all, only thing thats changed is calling the path the sidewalk and all that.

    Graham swan I think..

I don't think him or Gallagher are the worst,I don't even know what accent Kevin Gallaghers tryna put on when he speaks but you can clearly hear the Scottish accent in him and more so swan..

There's worse out there than them that are unrecognisable like Gordon Ramsey, what the * is that :97:

He's from right up North Gallagher is he not, certainly sounds like it..

Aye I mind when I said on here beofre about that Swan guy nobody agreed with me, if they never said id never have knew he was Scottish though.

I mind about 2/3 year ago whenever when I first heard Gallacher commentating I asked who it was and when told said "I thought he was Scottish" only to be told he is :smiley-laughing002: his accent is mental.

I though Gordon Ramsey was actual born English?

Americans generally have the worst ear for accents in the world though. English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh accents sound the same to them unless you go to pantomime "ooh aye och the noo" Scotish or on the other side Hugh Grant extremes.

They couldn't end up with a Scottish accent if they tried to.

Brian Swanson. He doesn't have an English accent at all though, just a posh Scottish one (he's from a posh as * school so makes sense)

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8je59FZ7L4"]Brian Swanson calls John Terry's mum a slag - YouTube[/ame]

Does anyone really think he sounds English when you hear that there? He sounds like a plum but tbf he's probably always talked like hat.

I thought Ramsey was born in Glasgow but a quick check was just outside in Johnstone..
    Knew it was Scotland..
    His accent is shameful..

    Kevin Gallagher's is Clydebank :56:

Fuckit I'll give you that one now as that is nothing like..

I though he was from up the highlands or maybe the borders :56:

My mum has lived i glasgow for 20 years now so usually she speaks like a normal person. But as soon as she's back east or even with her dad she starts saying stuff like "I dinnea ken like" but in a mix of glasgow and East coast accents. It's weird but unintentional.

Yep his accent is like nothing you's come across in Johnstone, in fact you'd probably get hit a slap if you spoke like that here. :smiley-laughing002:

They should be shot. We have perfect words like Aye and Yass depending on what you want to use them for.
