He was good in Europe last year, but he was a huge let down in the Group stages this years. We are a better team when he is out of the side in my opinion.

 

As each day goes by i think more and more sammy and ledley will stick it out and move on in the summer for a nice fat signing on fee.
12 days left and its not looking good.

 

I actually don't want Sammy, Ledley or Forster here anymore. Sammy does not look like he wants to be here, Forster is looking for a way out and Ledley is still faffing around regarding the contract. If Ledley wants to stay fine get him tied up but if not get him to * this month

 

I don't want Sammy to go. But if we're completely overhauling the team, then selling on Sammy, Ledley, Forster, Forrest, Kayal, Izzaguirre and Stokes is thw way to go imo. Lenny's had the same core of the squad for a few years now, time to change things up and rebuild.

That's a bit drastic mate, Izzy has been magnificent this season - would not want to sell him at all!! Stokes is decent and a vital player, if not for the first team, definitely the squad. Even though I'm not Forrest's biggest fan at times he can be great and he is still quite young. So selling him would be ludicrous. As for Kayal I feel for the guy but his time might be up now. Unfortunate because he was hitting good form before he got injured AGAIN I feel.

 

I think all 7 of the players I mentioned there can be very good players, but there's a shelf-life for a squad. We have 20 times the budget of every other team in the country, we're going to win the league year in, year out. Time to change it up imo, Lennon's first team (the squad assembled from 2010 to now) have served us well, but it's time for something different.

 

but to change it up & get better players than the ones you listed
will cost a fortune & they aren't guaranteed to perform to their
potential.

reading your post again i'm not sure you mean upgrade which is what
i thought you meant.However if you don't mean for better players
do you mean downgrading?

 

I mean younger players, really. We've got Van Dijk and Lustig to build around at the back, two great players. Commons is an excellent attacking player who actually has creativity, so I'd keep him around. Give some of our youth players a chance, bring in some more of the gems we seem to discover every season. Stokes has got 7 goals in 31 games this season. Forrest is nowhere near the player some people thought he would become a few years ago. Kayal is always injured, and I think Forster wants to go back to England at this point. Time for change.

 

Selling Izaguirre would be madness.

I'll be gutted if he goes. Was fantastic in last seasons Champions League.

 

2 million is a great deal for him. 1/3 of the way to the Finbogosson fund.

 

And pish ever since, bar the very odd game.

And pretty much pish every season before last.

Not good enough, waste of wages.

 

I think Celtic would sell for half of that. Maybe even less.

 

He was one of our best players in the 11/12 season.

 

£1 million would be good business. Quite like big Sammy but it's time for something new for us and for him.
