Thing is the police won't be blamed. Away in Europe in the city's etc it gets a bit boisterous. But it's guys having a good time drinking signing and making a lot if noise. The Dutch police if you can call them police after seeing the footage there more like thugs will say they took that as a danger.

    Those pictures are disgusting :38:

I work with Law Enforcement as a Police Officer in Sweden and I also have training in and work in these situations (riots, football games, political demos and other situations with big crowds) and when I see someone doing the things we see in those pictures I get very angry :47:

If a collegaue near me did that I would have given him or her *.

we gave as good as we got :D glad were finally sticking up for our selfs. not that we were ever a walk over.

coppers were murder plain clothes lads just kicking and punching celtic lads, know for a fact that a 12 year old boy got hit with a baton of one of them and tried to hit his dad repeatedly.

glad one of them got bottled, can see it in a video hes a bit worse for ware lying on the ground.

I don't think there's a problem with preferring a drink with the opposition rather than getting in a fight. And I do like the reputation we have - as a traveler it doesn't matter where I go but whenever I mention Celtic it's always, always, always a positive reaction. But in a situation like this when the Ajax fans are being scummy and the police are looking for a fight, it's necessary to put your safety above that reputation. Well done to the ones who stuck up for themselves, and it's not good reading seeing some of the judgement being passed on them by fellow supporters.

Agreed mate. The only really disappointing thing I seen in that video was Celtic fans attacking what looks like a tram or a train. No need for that.

I seriously hope the board back us on this ! This is straight up police brutality. People might have dissagreed with the Scottish coppers way of crowd control but they stopped riots from happening by NOT attacking their away fans. Circling their support and stopping them from attacking Celtic fans was the best way to control a possible escalation in violence (which the ductch police should have been very prepared for due to the incidents in Glasgow)

    absolutely shocking !!

I was planning to go to for the Barcelona away match at Ajax at the end of the month but this incident killed it for me...Shame really, I love Amsterdam and have had only positive experiences there but never had an opportunity to attend some footy - no idea it could degenerate like that over there...Any Dutch to shed some light?
