Not really. I doubt something really big can happen when 100 people are in the stadium. Well, only when it is derby, 2 games per year, and maybe if they play in the Cup.

Interesting, the only interesting thing that happen was that incident, game was pish, as usual.
Still, both commie clubs ultras are good for one thing. Beating drunk, rude, arrogant, violent UK tourist during the season in Zakynthos.

Today at 18:00 (UK time) 146th Eternal derby will be played on Partizan's stadium!

    Table:

    1. Red Star 62 pts
    2. Partizan 56 pts

Red Star have 15 straight wins, Partizan lost their last league game. If Partizan lose today (hopefully :icon_mrgreen: ), Red Star will be certain to win the league first time after six years. There are four games to be played after this one.

According to Serbian newspaper Celtic send their representatives to watch this game. They contacted Red Star for the tickets, they forgot that Partizan is host this time. :56:
I was pleasantly surprised to hear this, because I thought that Celtic gave up on Balkan in terms of scouting. Hopefully we will sign Darko Lazović, best winger in this league. :icon_mrgreen:

It would be interesting if there was a pole to see which club, Crvena Zvezda or Partizan is more popular here.
Anyway, I always find interesting to see foreigners have more interests in this derby than me, Serbian who couldn't care less about this.

    missed two penalties :icon_lol:

A football website in Slovenia reported that Serbian media reported that Celtic was interested in Nejc Pečnik. I didn't see that coming.:smiley-laughing002:

Also, how come Pečnik is playing RB at Zvezda? He used to be a forward but from what I read Stojanović has been using him as a RB. :97:

Dejn Kelhar also signed for Zvezda. :icon_mrgreen:

When Nejc arrived, we were told that he is attacking midfielder or second striker. He played on right wing during the first part of season, when Lazović returned from injury, he was moved on left wing (he also missed some games in second part of season, because Zvezda also have Ninković, and Slaviša decided that Ninković will play on left wing).

Our right back Petković was suspended for 2 or 3 games when he arrived from OFK Beograd (he also had some problems with injury), and we managed to * up with registration of another right back who arrived during the winter break, so Nejc ended up at right back (Slaviša said that Nejc played some games as right back when he was younger, or that he was a right back, I can remember correctly). I really like Nejc, he always gives 100%, and he is really a good player, shame that he is wasted on right back when he has a lot more to offer when he plays up front.

KK Zvezda have another Slovenian, Jaka Blažič. I have to admit that you guys are way more cold blooded than us, we tend to * up because of our emotions, but you are always calm and focused.

I was lucky enough to get to a basketball derby at Pionir earlier this year, was incredible, Delije and Grobari never let off the whole night, it's the only time Ibe been to a sporting event in my 46 years when I've left the venue with my ears ringing due to the sheer noise, and that coming from someone that's been to more Old Firm and European nights than most people have had hot dinners.

I know Red Star filled the Kombank Arena for a game recently, I shudder to think what that was like with 23000 indoors, the YouTube footage was stunning.

Will be an interesting last week in the football, Red Star probably will have to go to Vojvodina on the last day and get a result

I'm hoping to get out to next seasons derby at Marakana, think it's a whole lot better there than at Partizan which is a horrible stadium in my view, I understand they were charging 2000 dinar for side view yesterday which is very very high for Serbia

Yeah, you usually don't see a player with his dribbling skills play at RB. :smiley-laughing002:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gawm1lojcnc"]Nejc Pecnik - dribling, Napredak - Crvena zvezda 0:1 - YouTube[/ame]

But if you have enough creative attacking players and Pečnik is doing OK at the right back position then I guess it's a win-win situation for you guys. And from what I can see, he is often playing very high up. What is he like in his defensive duties? He's pretty strong so I guess that's a plus. But before this season, I've never seen him play anything else apart from a striker, a winger or an attacking midfielder. First time I saw him on RB in a lineup on Flashscore, I just shrugged it off and thought it was a mistake. :icon_mrgreen:

And how is Kelhar doing? And do you think Zvezda will hold off Partizan and win the league? How long has it been since you last won it? It's been quite some time, am I right?

As for our cold-bloodedness: I guess it's something that rubbed off from those pesky Austrians in all those centuries under their rule. :icon_mrgreen: And believe me, it's not always a good thing. We could use a bit of passion every now and then. I guess the best thing is to be somewhere in between, maybe have one parent from Serbian and one from Slovenia. Just look at how well Goran Dragič is doing in the NBA. He's a living proof of that. :56:

Cofi#12-CFC1888 and sarcasmotron, your conversation reminded me of this:

"This our civic world, and otherwise inherently burdened by Turkish habits of idleness and the Slavic need for excess, now, has received Austrian formalist concepts about society and social obligations, by which personal reputation and dignity of man class are based on the specified size of unproductive, meaningless costs, often on just an empty and ridiculous luxury without the spirit and taste..."

If Zvezda was home side on that basketball game, we were on the same game. :icon_mrgreen: Zvezda can lose one game and they will still win the league. PM if you want when you are in Belgrade, fellow Celts are more than welcome here. :celt_2:

Almost every Zvezda's fan think that he's wasted on right back. Problem is that Zvezda have many good players up front, but also don't have classic left winger in squad. Because of that Ninković often plays on left wing (there is opinion that he's wasted there, as he is far better when he plays as a attacking midfielder). Nejc is strong, and he is also reasonably fast. Sometimes he gets caught over, but still he haven't made any major mistake.

Kelhar really impressed me, because he was exactly what was missing in Zvezda's defense, classic big no nonsense defender. I like that he is well aware that he isn't technically the greatest player and that he isn't the quickest either, so he plays his football really simple (when he's under pressure, he don't try to dribble, he just kick it away). Some people say that he had the worst game during his stay at Zvezda against Partizan, but I think that he wasn't that bad, it was difficult for a lot of players from defense to adapt because of 2 defensive midfielders in front of them (Zvezda usually plays with 1 dm).

Last time Zvezda won the league was in 2007. :54: I think that Zvezda can hold off Partizan, probably the most important thing is that fans and players are united after last game. It was painful to miss 2 penaties :)31:) and to lose in game like this, especially when you know that your team is far better than the opposition. Stojanović also * up a bit with his tactics. As I said, fans will give their best to support those guys, because they deserve this title (I don't know if you know what is the current situation in Zvezda). Partizan will play some tough games, so they can maybe lose some points. The most important thing for Zvezda is to win next three games, so they don't have to play against Vojvodina with pressure upon their backs.

Yeah, Dragić/č (in Serbia we call him Dragić, so I put ''č'' just in case you get angry or something :smiley-laughing002: ) is probably the best example. :smiley-laughing002:

    Well said.

He's Dragić indeed, not Dragič. He's of Serbian origin, his dad is a Bosnian Serb, maybe his Mum is Slovenian, but he is definitely DragiĆ.
Our Slavic cousins, Slovenians don't have Ć in their language, only Č, that is what can make a confusion.

I was always wondering if they have "ć" in their alphabet. Every day you learn something new. :50:

No, they don't have ć and đ (Serbs and Croats are only Slavic nations with those 2 letters) and as far s I remember they don't have dž, we have both those letters just as č and dž, so...Someone was sleeping at Serbian language lessons. :smiley-laughing002:
Hehehehe, 7th grade primary school, differences among south Slavic languages. Well, I don't know if in Serbia you learn it, in Republika Srpska, we have it in our Serbian language curriculum. :bbpd:

Why would I be offended if you wrote Dragić. I mean, that is his name. :56:

And no, we don't have a ć, only a č. That's why I spelled it like I did. Although I try to use ć if I'm sure this is how that particular person writes its surname. But here in Slovenia, you never know which one is which. Sometimes it's -ič, sometimes it's -ić. And as we don't have the letter ć in our alphabet, people often just type ič.

And yes, Goran's mom is Slovenian, she's a native of Ljubljana, where the family lives. Btw, Zoran, Goran's younger brother, is also an amazing basketball player. He currently plays in Spain for Unicaja Malaga and there are quite a few people who think he's better than Goran was at this age.
