Did The Club Make a Huge Mistake?

is the family section in the right place

me and the burd have season books in the main stand . unfortunately we are in one of the sections taken over by uefa for european nights and we have to move . our packages for the group stages are in the family section . the lisbon lions lower, right next to the away support .
this mob coming next week are not known for being celtic friendly and bring quiet a few skinhead thugs where ever they go . at the barca game , looking around me there are hundreds of women and hundreds of wee kiddies .
i just hope there is no trouble or intimidation from ajax fans , there would be an awful lot of scared people in that corner of the ground . should the family section not be in big jocks stand ?

 

There might be a different sort of age group in there come Tuesday should be fine.

I am sure all will be fine. Just get the kids to buy up some half and half scarves to show big bad Ajax that they are not a threat to them.

The only reason i can think they did not put it in the Jock Stein, is maybe they want the standing section there when it happens

 

Right got you now,thought it was between just your normal SPL match and champions league match where you would have seen a different sort of crowd

My ST (and where I'll be sitting on Tuesday night) is in 116.

The fact fans get shunted around to pander to them * from uefa is out of order.
How many thousands of fans lost out because of them * taking seats.
In some finals i think they take around 20/30k. nice to know they like to * over there customers so they can have a nice day out with there buddies.

I dont have an opinion on Ajax fans but I have wondered this before as it is odd to put a family section right next to an away support. Perhaps it is deliberate in order so there is less potential for bother, but it doesnt seem particularly kiddy friendly to stick them next to away fans.

 

I totally agree that I have found it strange to have the away section right next to and slightly above the right hand side of the main stand..

My only time I've ever sat on that side was the 6-2 game,I'd been asking for a couple years to go to it(old firm game)but was always told 'your too young son'

This day was magic but I was sat right next them just above us,obviously there is a big gap but at the time it felt too close for comfort,we were trouncing them 3-0 and the atmosphere was great untill for me at that age it got abit scary when there's turned..
Slit throat signs from guys in balaclavas towards us kids was at the time troubling..
Pointing out kids aswell was very brave of them..

It was after this I thought it should never be the family stand and there should be a section somewhere else..


A couple years later in the 3-3 game where Rab Douglas played a blinder ,I was sat in the jock stein and everytime they scored that game the stewards struggled to keep them in there section,they were on the side of the pitch right next to the main stand again..

 

Yea its pretty stupid to put it beside the away and especially if we ever draw that new div 2 club thats well known for causing a ruckus

JK mate. why don't uefa just sit there instead of moving you's ? Is it an actual bunch of uefa officials?

 

I don't think there's a big issue.

I don't think they'll be jumping over the stewards to attack us or lobbing things at us. Other than a few nasty songs (in Dutch), I think you'l be alright.

i posted the original thread a couple of days ago . had it not been for about 500 police and stewards keeping them at bay . they would have attacked us tonight . as it was they were throwing bits of seats and other stuff at us . and yes women and kids were terrified . a wee girl about 6/7 sat in front of me and never saw a kick of the ball , she never took her eyes off that bunch of thugs .
