worry about the fact that big mick is the option.this would make him an automatic pick, on form he doesnt justify it.he is raw

I think it works both ways mate, McManus is lucky if he gets passed the halfway line with the ball, only time he will be up there is at corners, so if hes wanting to give the strikers some motivation that will be the only time, but that would work just the same way with Boruc as when we have corners against us the strikers are back defending, have you ever seen Borucs reaction when he has to make a save, hes the one for me that actually motivates McManus and the other back three and tells them what they should be doing.

Pretty much right. He was a decent stop gap at the time, but as for being first pick, never mind captain, no thanks.

Strachan seems to see something that the majority of people do not. Pressley has no pace and his positional sense is rubbish as well. His clumsy and stands out as a weak link.

I remember when Rangers signed Hendry but the following season Advocaat knew Hendry was not at the required standard for CL football. Thats the same with pressley. His not good enough. Never has been, never will be. I dont care if a 23 year old is captain as its not about age but about ability. Pressley may have been in the game for years but that doesnt mean his automatically a better captain than a 20 year old. His done very well with limited ability but it has to stop now. Its worrying though as WGS signed him in January and the question is, is he brave enough to admit his signing is not good enough. Hartley and Pressley both are average players who are not good enough for celtic.

Can WGS sign a decent player ffs Only Boruc, Naka and Naylor have been a real succes can any one tell me another.

Give Pressley his wages and send him to new zealand as far away for parkhesd as possible. And while hes at it get caldwell hartley miller to * aswell.

    strachans signings:
    jiri - poor
grav - started well, played well in the champions leauge and against rangers
macij - injured all this season, top goal scorer last season.
boruc - best keeper we've had in the past 10 years.
naylor - best left back we've had in ages.
brown - looks awsome so far
donati - looks good thus far
nakamura - won player of the year
wilson - good, though injured last season
miller - free , scored a few champions league goals
pressley - free. needed back up BADLY at the time of the signing
hartley - midfeild was crap when he signed.
jvoh - our top goal scorer last season
Sno - looked good, young and strong
caldwell - * at rightback not a great cb but not the worst. and free.
macdonald and killens records speak for them selfs

so thats a grand total of.... 2 * signings, jiri and grav (because of his wages)

kenny miller, caldwell was free, hartley and pressley were needed imo when they signed

I don't suppose that many of us could remember every signing. But it's a coincidence that the three you forgot don't support your argument.:97:

Camara was pish. Virgo pish. And Du Wei's only 45 minutes which I witnessed at Clyde were comedy - they could have pulled a guy out of the stand and he'd have done better.

also 3 players that havn't been at the club for how many months?
virgo was away on loan or injured so its obvious how i could have forgot about him du wei also only played 45min of football so obvious how i could have forgotten him. camara left ages ago too.
i also forgot telfer. who was solid and sorly missed when he left.

Naka, Boruc and naylor are good signings. JVOH is a decent poacher and not much else not in the same league as Henke, Sutton or Hartson.

Jarosik could be decent but only plays when he fancies it dont know what happend to Gravesen maybe a lack of respect towards the manager. Wilson a decent full back lacks a bit of pace probably why we are looking for a new full back. Magic hope he gets fit as he can do a job. As for the rest barely a mention merited

Donati has looked very average and brown has bags of potential hope they prove to be class signings. As for Macdonald and Killen hope they dont go the same way as Hartley Caldwell and Pressley inofective mince.

Were are the exciting wow signings come on Gordon get your finger out

what exactly do you expect? how has donati looked very average?

wow signings? i personally cant wait to see scott brown play outwith a friendly. hes spent, and well spent imo 8mil! with possiably mendy costing 2m if he comes. thats ten million what more do you want? do you not think he has a budget?

back to the thread, i have never liked big elvis, yes he may try his hardest and is all blood and guts ect but he has no pace and thats what you need in the modern game.

Telfer was a decent signing I agree. Five signings have been failures not two. And some of the ones you list above, despite being 'free transfers' haven't been a success.

But overall Strachan has more than pass marks in his transfer dealings. It's just a pity that he seems unable to get the best out of them. Maybe this season he will.
