Broony gets sent off for a quick mild tap with his boot but does Neymar get booked for his blatant theatrics? One law for the rich and another for the poor.

I think everyone did mate. I certainly thought he'd erased that part of his game.

Celtic's biggest match of the season so far and our captain does something as stupid as that. It's * disappointing.

It was a yellow, as evidenced by the fact that the ref had a yellow card in his hand and was about to merely book Brown and get on with the game until Neymar started his wriggling and the Barca players surrounded him, pressuring and gesturing for the red to be given.

As for everyone slating Brown, i'm sure that was his first red card for years (I honestly can't remember his last one) but everyone acts like he gets a card a game, which is utter bullshit.

He's only had 2 red cards in his career before, both with us. One the "headbutt" on Lafferty and the other for a tackle which was never a red card, it was for studs up but Brown slid infront of the player to block him punting the ball, was shocking as it wasnt even a tackle or near the player it was about 1 yard infront of the player - think it was against Motherwell in a home game.

Soft as * but he should never have gave the ref the opportunity to send him off.

Take the yellow for the foul and walk away there was absolutely no need. We all know what Neymar is like ffs of course he`s going to milk it for all its worth.

I'm yet to hear a non Celtic supporter say it shouldn't have been a red card. Sky Sports presenters and ITV presenters all say it was soft but a red.

Just watched the replay for the 1st time and I genuinely don't think it was ever a red. He barely scraped Neymar's elbow with his toe, the little monkey took a second to think about it, then rolled around holding his * ribs!

If Neymar had done that to Brown, it would still be a red card. Ref made the correct call.

Brown made a silly decision in the heat of the moment. Like everyone else, I thought it was the kind of petulance that was behind him.

To be fair he does look like a monkey so I don`t think he meant it in a racist way.

If he called Gareth Bale a monkey would anybody think that was racist?

Off topic I know but just sayin. :50:

:rolleyes:what so you think its ok for a celtic captain to run past a player lying on the ground and try and put the feet in him?? i sure as * dont its a vile thing to do for any player nevermind the man who is supposed to be leading by example .
its on a par with john terry getting sent off for having a kick at sanchez or pepe standing on messi's hand

I doubt very much that ref last night would have sent a Barca player off for the same thing.

Haven`t watched the 90 minutes again but being at the game it seemed like he was giving them everything.

At first he had the yellow out but then went to his back pocket for the red so must have been fourth official who said to him

Yeah but that is because his foot deflects off his back. It simply cannot be denied that he kicked him in the back.

I think it was the linesman that informed him the ref that Brown had kicked out. He was going to book him for the foul, and had Brown continued to run past Neymar, instead of swinging his boot in his direction, it would have only been a booking.

Yep. The intent was there. Stupid thing to do from Brown.
