Prefer the pubs than the clubs now. Only 23 but I've outgrown nightclubs in the past year.

One thing I do think though is that we have the nightclubs done all wrong over here. They're all tiny wee venues where you're shoulder to shoulder with everyone else in the club, no space to move and too loud to have a conversation with someone.

Every other country I've been to, particularly in SE Asia and Australia, most of the clubs there have been miles better. More space, areas where you can still have good music playing but a bit quieter so you can still have a dance and talk to your group at the same time.

Obviously its a bit different but the beach bars in Thailand are a good example, where the music is blaring at the clubs but quieter a bit further away towards the beach.

One of the best nightclubs I've been to was the Sky Bar in Bali, Indonesia. Was a big club, probably about the same size as The Garage in total. It had a bar downstairs that was open until say 11pm, then you moved upstairs. On the first floor they had a dance room, floor above that was RnB room and then they had a lounge on the roof that was quite big that played EDM but at a relatively low noise. Plenty of tables and seating areas so you can just sit with your mates etc and chat to people. Place was minted.
There was another club that was HUGE next door called Bounty, it had a big area out front that by looking at it you'd think it was dead, then you'd walk through the place and out to the back and it was just this big massive area that was packed with people playing good music. Again one end of that area was pretty loud with a big massive dancefloor and the other end was tables that you can stand at and speak to people.

Reminds me of a better time.

Pubs. Not a fan of clubbing although I do like the odd night at the arches.

But going out to te pub, few bands on, plenty of pints....that's a night for me

Similar to what you explained its like a hotel bar/club where you can go outside and have a drink with the park bench tables and a big screen to watch the football etc... Id compare it to walkabout just because walkabouts like a bar but kind of nightclub aswell but walkabout you can't go outside but id the 3 sisters is ten times better

I think clubs outgrow on us because like myself I've been going since I was 16! It's the same tunes the same faces etc i still haven't been to somewhere like the arches etc but off top of my head there's only Vickie's savoy re play campus that most people go to because places like bamboo 212 are full of stuck up arseholes

I've started to prefer the top of the town more whenever I actually go to the town I like places like starting in nicos is it the hogshead? Basically bars with a dj playing some music even like the hall wee bar with few games of pool if u want nice relaxed atmosphere before going somewhere and all of these are pretty cheap

Btw what is it with * who think they are the bees knees and going to the Corinthian this is all I here nowadays aye in that Corinthian last night.... Doesn't make you rolling in it fucksake it's no hard to get in the place it's basically just a casino

The Corinthian is actually decent, just not on a Friday or a Saturday night. I used to go on a Sunday night quite a lot, either sit in there the whole night or go after Bamboo and sit there from 3am til it shuts at 6am.

Friday and Saturday nights its full of posh stuck up idiots. I mind one Saturday there was a group of guys that looked like Harvard croquet players, with their jumpers actually tied round their shoulders and everything, speaking in posh Mearns accents and they were tryin to act the part at the bar.

On a Sunday its different, a lot quieter, can enjoy just sitting and cracking a bit of money in the casino or sitting with your mates. Also on a Sunday you run in to a few of the Celtic team. I sat playing blackjack one night with Hooper and Kayal about 2 years ago. Another few times I've met Stokes and the likes in there and you often get a chance to stand and talk to them since its really quiet and nobody bothers them. I mind standing talking to Jos Hooiveld and one of the teams bouncers one night for about an hour in there, was cracking.

Give it a try if you're ever out on a Sunday night, but I would agree with you - its garbage on a Friday and Saturday.

A bar...never liked nightclubs...too loud to talk to the person next to you without busting your throat and if its a popular place it can take an age to get served.

A nice bar with sports on the telly, a roaring fire, plenty strangers or drinking mates to talk to and food to order should you be on the all day shot. Of course not every pub is like that, but up in the Highlands thats not too hard to find.

Bars/pubs. Was in The Garage and Viper etc this summer and felt like I had just been there and done it. Too loud, roasting, too busy at the bar, music was a bit blah. Too many drunken idiots bumping into you, nowhere to sit. I'm in a relationship as well so it was a case of "what am I doing here".

Rewind it back 3 or 4 years and clubbing was amazing, especially when single. But now it's all about chatting and having a laugh with your pals. Maybe have music on in the background but not overwhelmingly loud.

Never been a fan of going out to clubs. Full of arseholes that are on roids looking for bother these days. I would much rather head to a local boozer, and have a banter. Better if there is a jukebox, but not a necessity if there is a squad of folk.

Bar's are far better, most people try to pace themselves in them. However when you hit the nightclub they just go mental and get wrecked. Then they are annoying and ruin your night. Normally just leave after the bar whilst all the rest of my mates go to a club
