Nir Bitton

  1. And Charlie is a LB, no he's a CB, no he's a DM...

    Players are adaptable nowadays mate.

I just want to see him a bit further forward, I think he could excel being the guy who threads passes from midfield to our forwards, something we have seriously lacked for a long time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating him bursting into the box every two minutes and neglecting his defensive duties, just getting him a bit closer to the forwards and influencing the game from there would be nice.

He seems to get 10 yards inside the opposition half, lays it off and immediately stays behind the ball. With the safety net of a DM he could get 30 yards inside their half and influence our forward play a lot more.

  2. Excellent today, puts me in mind if busquets

  3. Kept it simple but it was effective. Start him against Hearts on a tight pitch like Tynecastle which will be a good test of his composure and metal in the middle of the park. They're more or less relegated but after the 7-0 humiliation they'll be out to exact some revenge. As in trying to kick * out us.

  4. Really was playing similarly to Busquets yesterday. Would love to see a midfield 3 with him and Johansen. Would be better if the third could be Norwood but would have to be Brown

  5. I've always said Nir Biton is a holding midfielder. He protects the back four very well.

He is a good enough footballer to be played further forward though. He is really growing into the Celtic Jersey. He is quite a graceful footballer for such a big guy.

I had a wee chuckle at the Busquets comparisons. Not because they are bullshit but because they are spot on.

  6. He looks like a player now. Very comfortable on the ball, might be another great find

  7. If Stokes never scored three goals Biton definitely would have been man of the match.

  8. Biton looked good yesterday against St Johnstone .

  9. I would say he is a better option than Kayal now. It is sad how Kayal has been set back by injuries. If he could recapture the form of his first season he would easily be our best midfielder.

  10. I've not been a big fan of his in the past, I think he looks lost sometimes but I thought he was brilliant yesterday.

  11. exactly what i was thinking :50:

  12. Was it Biton who one of his old coaches said he's the sort of player you should build a team around? Could be very true

Remember he is still a novice , here but he is improving all the time . Kayal never got over the brutal attack by Elbows .

  13. That's a bit of a random inclusion :smiley-laughing002:

  14. I think that's a fair point tbh but at the same time it shows a lack of mentality so... It's unfortunate.

  15. Excellent controlling midfielder, his best position is obviously sitting mid, has height so between him Virgil and Efe long balls won't work against us, good passing and quick feet for a big guy, when we played 4-3-1-2 against St.Johnstone our midfield ran riot with ease. Give the lad a run of games, we need to know if he can be consistent enough to control the midfield.

  16. I think he will be a great player, also would flourish in a 4-3-1-2 which would also let us play an attacking mid like Rogic

  17. Great composure on the ball. Big lanky *. But time will show he can be an awkward opponent. And he shows signs of a good game reader. * do for me!:50:

  18. think he looks good, hope he starts more games now

  19. I don't think we would have been overrun by aberdeen if he had played, my opinion of him has changed greatly the last few games.
