From the list Finny mentioned ("Stokes, Pukki, Balde, Atajic and I'm not sure about The Fridge,") only 1 has even been a regular part of the first team squad for longer than a season - the one I suggest keeping, as an aside - while the rest have scored fewer goals between them in the SPL than Darren Mackie used to achieve in a year.

I hardly think there would be much of a revolt were Celtic to trim the numbers in that department - numbers already way too high IMO - and see one or 2 more seasoned, quality professionals come in through the door as a replacement, who were capable of more of providing an impact those listed above have so far (Stokes the exception, again.)

Just my thoughts SD - we do seem to have a fair amount of excess there dude.

Sorry mate, the post was more directed at Finny wanting to cull half our first team before the CL qualifiers. Utter madness.

Admittedly, Commons VVD and Forster would be getting their jotters for me - to be replaced by Hayes, that boy from St Mirren Sevco just signed as a CB and Jamie Langfield - but to be fair, that's just common sense?

Griffiths is not an all round better player than stokes..

It would be interesting to see how many stokes has laid on a plate for griff already..

Tony watt right now is a great young prospect, with the potential to be better than both of the above.. Right now watt for me isn't better but he has qualities that stokes and griff don't including strength, raw pace, good in the air and just a completely different option than what we have..

There is room for all 3 here and in certain games for that to be our front 3..

Can I ask what your the majority of you are basing your high hopes on Tony Watt?
Any time Iv seen him play he was no better than average. Ok he scored a wonder goal against Barca but the other 5 or 6 games he played for us he didnt really stand out apart from the motherwell game. How can you all be so confident in his ability?

Easy to keep banging on about coming on and scoring a winner against barca, how many teenagers do that?

I can remember caley thistle and st.mirren away straight off the head where he was quality..
He has all the attributes to be a top striker, clever, quick, strong, raw, can finish on the deck or in the air, beat a man, come deep or run the channels or lead the line on his.owm and bully defenders almost double.his age and more fully developed..

He's also gone out to decent standard of league totally out of place culture and language wise and scoref goals and played well when given.a.chance against top sides like anderlecht..
He's also scored a good ratio in the under 21's/ airdrie and anywhere he's been..

He's the best young talent in scotland and especially striker wise we haven't had someone like him in years, definitely not coming through celtics books we haven't .

This myth about Stokes being a lazy player is utter bollocks in my opinion. Stokes has hit about 20 goals in 3 out of 4 seasons and countless assists. Until Watt has done that, and Griffiths for that matter I don't see how you can criticise him and say both are better forwards and more important to our side.

Milk turns quicker than Stokes. The guy has zero agility, energy and pace. All qualities Ronny will be looking for in his attackers that Watt has in abundance and Griffiths has a heck of a lot more of than Stokes as well.

All of our strikers are somehow different and not comparable to each and other. Stokes,Watt and Griffiths(after he apologises for beeing a * dumbfuck) are all options I want to see in our squad. Pukki and Balde can also stay but I wouldn´t be bothered if Ronny tell them to go.

What we need the most are 1 or 2 wingers or 1 winger and one Maloney type of CAM/winger

    Can't agree with that!

Stokes scores far more goals and upped his overall game play when griffiths signed also gave commons more room between them!

Apart from the off field stuff griffiths has done just fine not even played 20 games yet,, but your entitled to you opinion and only time will tell what players have futures under Ronny.

I kind of hope so, I put up with him while he's here and will celebrate when he scores but will be very happy to see him leave. Not the type of person or player I really like to see at Celtic.

Agree with this, as I've said.

Griffiths is the best out of a bad bunch of 'strikers' besides Watt. Watt is in an entirely different league to everyone else we've got in the striking department and I make no apologies for saying that as that's my opinion and I'm also confident he'll prove me right this season in the faith I have in him as a player under Ronny.

If I had my way I would punt EVERY 'striker' on our books bar Watt and start again.

Crazy thing to say. He may well prove to be, but at this point Stokes and Griffiths are ahead of Watt.

He's shown glimpses of being a great player in the future but that's it.

He'll show it this season how many miles ahead of both Stokes and Griffiths he is meaning that currently he is better than both already. Who knows what the guy could achieve in the game. Tremendous player who just needs a bit of trust and an arm round the shoulder from a manager who cares about him and wants what's best for him which I'm sure Ronny will provide and from then we'll see Watt flourish into the player and striker I and a lot of other fans on here know he can be, this season. He'll be vital in the qualifiers if we are to get to the CL Groups stages for the third year in a row.
