Uncontrolled and uncontrollable fruit cases are really not welcome at any club . Anyone who has any love for Celtic wouldn't want a fruitcake on the team sheet every week . Now I am not saying Tony Watt is a fruit case , you are and you may be right as no manager seems to be able to control him . It's very important that a manager puts more emphasis on the good of team spirit than what you call a fruitcase .

Massively important pre-season coming up for him I think. As I've said with the right attitude his ability will shine through. Recently the signs have been promising that he is ready to really grasp the opportunity in front of him. If it wasn't clear to him before then I think his spell in Belgium will have brought it home to him just how lucky he is to be at this club, so in that respect I think the move has been worthwhile.

If he shows Ronny a desire to apply himself (something that has been levelled against him previously) and hits the ground running in pre-season matches then I can see him featuring heavily for us if not then I think he'll be moved on unfortunately. Huge couple of months in his celtic career coming up and I hope he manages to do it.

Not exactly make or break time for Watt, but he really has to show application and commitment this season. If he can bring both of these attributes to preseason, then he's in a good position to impress Deila. Going by his constant tweets about his gym work, he seems to be aiming to make a good impression. As St. Matt said, I think Belgium might have given him a little wake up call, which if heeded, can only be a good thing for Watt and Celtic.

I expect him to be as big as lukaku when he turns up for pre season training.

    Nicely put :56:

But sums it up for me

Could not give two * what players do off the park.

As long as they are winners and give 100% for Celtic then I'm happy.

As long as we don't have a team of rapists and murderers then I couldn't care less.

I wonder will a few selfies make Watt the fit , well mannered respectful striker who will score a goal every other match , or will they lead Watt to have his customary flare up with Deila in one of their early meetings , for the sake of all his devoted fans amongst the Celtic support I hope he has turned over a massive new leaf and becomes a useful Celtic player.

What is with your level of hate towards Watt? Im interested to know. If you don't rate him fair enough, but there seems to be a level of vitriol to your posts.

You keep referring to this 'mythical' drunken bust up. I think it's time to put up or shut up on this one Ulster - and I say that with respect. You say you wont reveal your source, but you constantly bring it up. What you post, seems to the rest of us as unfounded rumours, yet you are scathing of others who refer to rumours. Bit hypocritical, so for the sake of your remaining credibilty, either spill or stop dealing in rumours.

Tell me mid1981 , what have I done to give you the right to bully and intimidate me, I did hope that Watt can sort himself out. That is * of a lot more than the vicious fans who support Celtic and have found Griffith guilty despite all efforts of the Scottish police cannot even bring a charge against Leigh . Not a word of criticism against them mid 1981, makes me wonder are you genuine or a fake . Be consistent mid1981.and you may get the credibility you yearn .

Let's keep the personal talk out of it please. If anyone feels they are being bullied or intimidated they can hit the report button and alert staff to it.

Ulster, I don't think there is a hint of malice in my post. I was asking a genuine question. You have hinted at issues with Watt but have yet to provide an ounce of evidence. Instead, you revert to type and try to turn my post around on me. I'm just trying to understand why you refer to this bust-up without providing evidence, especially when you chastise others for similiar posts.

I'm happy to engage with you, but you always try to argue or play the victim when you are questioned. If you felt you were being bullied by my post, then that wasn't the intention.

Tony Watt chasing striker’s role at Celtic

TONY WATT wants to prove to Ronny Deila that he can be Celtic’s No 1 striker.

<section class="text-description">The 20-year-old spent last season on a stormy loan spell at Belgian club Lierse after Neil Lennon deemed him surplus to requirements at Celtic Park.
The promising striker went from the boy who dumped Barcelona to almost going off the radar and the rails over the past 12 months.
However, Watt will return for pre-season determined to prove to the new Norwegian manager that he still has a big part to play in Celtic’s future.
He said: “I wanted to be the No 1 striker but I had to go. I had to play somewhere else because I wasn’t going to get a game.
“I didn’t want to sit in a stand all season so I chose to go out on loan and the best option was Belgium.”
Watt has hardly featured since his famous strike against Barca at Parkhead in November 2012 and expressed bafflement at the situation.
Some within the club claimed his attitude changed after that, but the frontman still felt he should have played a lot more.
He recalled: “It was weird. After the Barcelona match I never really got any more games.
“Before, I was playing a lot but afterwards I didn’t. I think I had five starts in the next seven or eight months.
“People were saying that I hadn’t scored since the Barca game, but I hadn’t really played.
“I made sub appearances, but it was starts I was looking for and I didn’t make a lot of them.
“I don’t really know why – that’s just life, I suppose. You’ve just got to take it on the chin.”

<section class="text-description">Watt still managed to hog headlines in Scotland from his time in Belgium.
Lierse coach Stanley Menzo branded him lazy and unfit, but the youngster claims his goalscoring record at the club speaks for itself.
“To be fair, I don’t really want to talk about him now,” said Watt in an interview with Scotzine.
“He means nothing to me now. He is an ex-manager and that’s all he’ll ever be.
“I’ll never play in another team managed by him – I’ll never put up with him again. He came out and said a lot of times that I did this and that wrong but I was always scoring – and I always scored goals for him.
“Some would say that I helped him out, but it was his choice. Everything I said in the press was gospel truth, it was all true.
“I’m not going to say anything bad about him.
“I’m not going to come out and bad-mouth him because it would be childish of me.
“I feel as if I’m better than that. I’m not going to come out and slaughter the guy.
“I know he gave me a hard time but that’s it. It’s finished now.”

    Nice mature interview by Watt.
Just need to get his head down, work hard and Ronny is not afraid to make him our number one striker.
Personally I think Watt is our best striker, he is certainly better than Stokes and Griffith.
Hopefully he will go on to become first choice for us this season and then lead Scotland to Euro 2016 too :50:

If we had just signed a 20 year old guy who scored 11 goals in roughly 20 games for a side battling relegation in Belgium last season we'd all be creaming ourselves. I'm really excited to have the Bhoy back, think his ceiling is limitless.

Agreed. I want him playing with Stokes and Griffiths next season up front.
