Hardly anyone lives in the Countryside proper nowadays. Except farmers. Living in a town in the countryside shouldn't really be classed as living in the countryside.

Neither. Living in the sticks would be too quiet for me but living in the city doesn't appeal to me anymore either, it's too hectic and big.

My preference would be to live in a small town with a population somewhere between 15,000-30,000. That's plenty big enough for me.

    City bhoy me.

Don't get me wrong, I love the outdoors. Many years of being in the scouts. But I love the fact I'm 20 min to the town, have 4 bookies, and all the amenities I need.

Countryside, have lived in the same area my whole life, and only just recently moved to Glasgow, apart from a few things I absolutely hate the place, but it's the only way I can go to college and a lot more job opportunities than where I am from.

City all day long, at least until i'm old. Even then I think i'd rather stay in the city as the vibrancy will keep me alive longer (or the car fumes will kill me quicker :icon_mrgreen:)

    * hate the smell(s) of the countryside :99:

Parents always used to make me go for walks and hikes up * hills/mountains/glens/lochs/lakes/valleys/streams/fields. * that.

Give me a tower block and a tesco please.

1/3 of the world now lives in a City, thats the highest it has been at any time in human history.

For the majority of my life I've lived in cities all over the world, but have also spent a lot of time living and even working in the countryside. Strangely though never the countryside in the UK.

I quite like the whole being away from the hustle and bustle of city life and could happily retire to live somewhere up in the mountains. Probably never happen but I can adjust to both styles of living quite easily.
