I think I've heard of this guy before but haven't seen him play. Does look tubby, I'm sure our physios would sort him out Commons-style.

 

Seriously, why do we need another commons?

We have far too many midfielders, creative strikers, we need goals goals goals

 

I honestly can not see them selling him have no reason to they made big money selling Dwight Gayle .

Personally I don't want to go near either. But how would a guy who can get us 20+ league goals a season be any worse than this guy when he would likely cost much, much less.

Billy McKay has neither the ability nor intelligence to score goals for Celtic. He's an absolute diddy, and it would be like taking sweeties out a pram to 10 man SPL defences if we had him up front.

But if Commons is injured we have no other playmaker in that position. We could play Stokes there but hes better higher up the pitch as a second striker rather than attacking midfielder. There is Rogic and McGeouch but they are unproven for important games.

So he doesn't have the ability to score for Celtic, but has the ability to out-score any Celtic player domestically?

Never knew that, I'm just going to Wikipedia for my info. How do you know so much about him do you follow Peterborough? There's also the fact that they're wanting over £1.2 million for him which is pretty steep. Realistically, we can win the league with the squad we have, any additions at this stage should be experienced in the UCL and Europe, I honestly can't see what this guy will bring to the table considering what we already have.

 

Its a different ball game playing against wide open teams in end to end games than to be playing for Celtic.

Samaras would scored about 35 League goals a season if he played for Hearts, Motherwell or Inverness.

But its totally different playing for Celtic having to break teams down, to o that you need to have technical quality, intelligence and a good level of movement.

Just looking up his stats and where hes played.

2 seasons ago he played mostly left wing the whole season with the odd game on the right and in attacking midfield, last season he played about 25 games right midfield and about 15 up front, odd game on the left or attacking midfield. This season he has played 5 out of 6 games in attacking midfield.

 

What? All a striker needs to do is a kick the ball in the goal. Ans samaras could never score 35 goals a season, for anybody.

 

I know what you're saying, and I know where you're going with this but I can't agree at all.

As I said, I don't want either of them. I just would want Tomlin less because of the price tag he comes with.

Scoring goals is the result of getting chances, its much easier to get chances for diddy teams than to get chances for Celtic. To get chances for Celtic you actually need quality otherwise you'll be easily snuffed out with 4/5 guys around you.

Samaras would score for absolute fun for any other SPL team, he has far more quality than any forward who plays for any SPL team or has done in years. He would probably terrorize us every time we played them.
