We beat Roma to sign Ledley.

We do have the ability to trump teams in the transfer market, if we spend the money.

This is looking less and less likely though.

Guess he is gone. They will most likely ask for ridiculous money now that there are more interested.

 

If we're up against Lazio and Werder Bremen I'd rather not sign him. There must be more viable alternatives out there.

This article saying now that Lazio haven't bid (?) but Werder Bremen have. Apparently their bid was short of the 5 Million they want. We still have a chance if Lawell gets his cally dosh on the table.

Nobody has even established that Celtic have made a bid for Alfred Finnbogason but fans are threatening to descend en masse to Parkhead if Peter Lawwell doesn't get the chequebook out for the prolific striker.

 

We should have just went in early with an acceptable bid instead of messing around and advertising the fact he's available at a certain price.

I'd be interested to find out who Van Basten is looking at as a replacement and go and sign him.

One thing is for sure, if he is out of our price range another player will be on the radar and for 3-4million we can hopefully get a similar type player.

All we've really done is push the price up.

The way i look at it, we should go and get the type of player who Heerenveen will sign as a replacement for Finnbogason someone like Bard Finne.

Whenever i see these things run and run, i just think we'd be better saying, forget it and go and stick it to them by signing a player they will look for as a replacement. They are looking, so it looks like they will sell, but i think we'd have to go over £5million now, then it will be 6 and it goes on and on.

Nor I. The fan proclamation has been bizarre, as well, especially as most dont really know what he even looks like.

We will be fine this season with what we already have, thankfully. Not like we're aiming to do anything in Europe this season, anyway.

 

Maybe Herenveen are just spreading those rumours themselves to increase the price on their player.

 

I agree with the first part.

That very last part though...Who says we're not aiming to do anything? That notion seems nonsensical to me.
