Can someone be kind enough to post the pic again of Finaboggson in a Celtic shirt. The one that was somewhere at the start of the thread but I can't find it. Not the one where his head is on Amido Balde, the other one that looks quite real and is a good photieshop. Cheers.

Well I'm down under and its 3.20 pm....so Ill be looking for the first bit of news I can find (except twitter. ...as its pish).

 

Well..am on nights and been checking this now and again to see what the story is. The only thing I can see is that Werder Bremen were knocked back with a £4m bid and we've been quoted £5m. Supposedly this has also put a lot of European clubs on alert now..

Really wanted this signing, but cannot see it happening.

See that's just it.....been so long since there was this kind of buzz about a player from the fans. The club has a great opportunity here to really lift the place with this signing. The only danger is if he flops.....but it looks like this guy is the real deal.

We all new we wouldn't sin him before the end of Monday, Lennon talks * a doubt we'll bring anyone in...and if we do will be someone * or a young lad.

 

This is the problem... we've whipped ourselves into a frenzy over someone that few of us know ANYTHING about!

And for £5+ million pounds!!!

I would hope the board would be more professional than to * out that kind of money just to appease a fan-frenzy! Hopefully if it happens, it will happen because he's been scouted long-term and our staff have calculated the risk properly!

 

Just on this point, all the frenzy aside. I have to be honest and say I have not seen this guy play other than some youtube videos.

Wouldn't surprise me. When his name first entered the Celtic consciousness, I could find very little news stories on him via Google. Nearly the only thing I came across was mention of an AC Milan link, which is what got me excited about him from day one.

AUGSBURG last night sparked a bidding war which is set to ruin Celtic hopes of landing strike target Alfred Finnbogason.
The Bundesliga outfit had a £4.5million bid for the Icelandic ace booted into touch by Heerenveen chiefs who will not entertain any offer under £5m.
Lazio are also now in the race for Finnbogason and the price for the 24-year-old is set to spiral with the transfer window closing in 18 days.
Celtic chief scout John Park watched the attacker bag his third goal in two games last week and there is interest.
But Record Sport also understands Finnbogason is not pushing for a move and would happily stay with the cash-strapped Dutch side who also knocked back an offer from Werder Bremen.
Sources in Holland last night claimed Celtic also made an offer but that was not confirmed by the club.
Heerenveen director Gaston Sporre said: “It’s true proposals have come but the amounts are not interesting enough.
“We’d prefer to keep him. He’s important to us and he won’t just go anywhere.”
