Happy to have a proper left winger. Hopefully we create a training regimen that'll help lessen injuries. How good of a crosser is he actually, I wonder.

According to Wikipedia at the moment, Derk Boerrigter full name is:

Derk Frank John Steve Ronan Murray Fernando Ben Tom San Jose Lewis McMuffin Stewart Boerrigter

Oh, and apparently he's well over 8000000 ft tall, two in. taller than the 2nd tallest man in the world, Virgil Van Dijk.

    Makes sense.

    LOL!

Played most of Ajax' s games in the league last season, and 8 in Europe, so can't be too bad! Excited to see him in action.

Think he picked up a slight knock recently. Seems very improbable he'd play Wed.

Celtic's £2million-rated transfer target has a point to prove after bust-up with former Rangers star

29 Jul 2013 08:16 AJAX winger Derk Boerrigter is determined to prove his manager, ex-Gers ace Frank De Boer, wrong after being squeezed out in Amsterdam.

DERK BOERRIGTER was ready to fight for his future at Ajax – until coach Frank de Boer delivered a final slap in the face.
The Dutch winger is set to jet into Glasgow today to sign for the Scottish champions, subject to passing a medical.
Parkhead chiefs have reached agreement with their counterparts at the Amsterdam Arena to sign Boerrigter on a three-year contract.
And if the deal goes through, the 26-year-old will finally get the chance to bury six months of turmoil which have soured his final days in Amsterdam.
Having spent time away from Ajax after signing as a teenager, Boerrigter was brought back two years ago to inject class into De Boer’s young team.
The attacker made a flying start to his second spell, bagging goals in four successive games to earn a call-up to the senior Dutch squad.
However, the back injury which forced him out of the international double-header in November 2011 proved to be serious and kept him on the sidelines for several months. When he returned, it appeared Boerrigter was no longer the apple of De Boer’s eye.
Despite a bright ending to last term and crucial goals in the championship charge, the wide man was beginning to accept he had fallen out of favour.
De Boer had not put a new contract offer on the table and Boerrigter admitted the time may have come for him to move out of Amsterdam again.
He said: “I wanted to be even better and even more important for the team. It is frustrating for me that I was not successful with this.
“At the beginning of the season I did have a place but the explosive form was not there. I did not score and had no assists but I scored against PSV in a big game and did well.
“Then I was sat back in the stands and I didn’t understand.
“I heard the TV saying I had shown no upward trend and maybe my future chances lie away from Ajax.”
But Boerrigter was then given hope. Ajax hero Marc Overmars, a technical director at the club, assured Boerrigter he was a wanted man.
Speaking in the summer, the ex-Arsenal winger moved to quash rumours about the player’s immediate future and stated: “We’ll need Derk a lot this year. He is an attacker with specific qualities, which we would like to keep here.”

[IMG] Former Rangers star De Boer is now in charge at Ajax Dean Mouhtaropoulos/Getty Images
Even De Boer’s approach appeared to soften. Having suggested it would be best for Boerrigter to leave earlier in the summer, in pre-season he said: “It is up to Derk to show that he deserves a long-term contract again.”
However, just a short time after that statement from his manager, the final KO was delivered by the former Rangers defender and Overmars.
The former Barcelona pair agreed a deal with their ex-Nou Camp employers to sign winger Bojan Krkic on a loan deal for the upcoming season.
Although it was never publicised, sources in both Holland and Catalonia believed that part of the agreement?was that Krkic would play whenever he was available.
Boerrigter, who was aware that Krkic operated in his left-wing position, knew they had turned their backs on him.
Despite banging in a hat-trick in half an hour during a pre-season game against RKC Waalwijk in a 5-1 win, the winger knew his place was taken. He sniped after the game, in which the Barca loan star failed to shine: “I have not seen him [Krkic]. Maybe I have not quite been paying attention but I have not seen him much on the ball.
“But Bojan is a mercenary and the club will have paid much for him, so I assume that means he’ll play.”
De Boer intends to pick Krkic but Boerrigter has been assured he is wanted at Parkhead and now he has the chance to build on a promising career which started as an * in Oldenzaal.
Having attended the academy at FC Twente in Enschede, he was snapped up by Ajax in 2005.
Boerrigter said: “I could at that time have gone to different clubs in the Netherlands and Germany but chose Amsterdam because of a conversation I had with Danny Blind, where he said he liked me.
“I had always lived at home with my parents, had never cooked and could not even fry an egg, so the world opened up for me.
“I chose an apartment in Amsterdam and was no longer in a protected world, as is sometimes said about the east of Holland. I was with street urchins who did not mince words and it was quite a learning experience for me.
“But after just half a year, Henk ten Cate [then Ajax manager] decided he had seen me play once during a trial match and wasn’t impressed.
“He chose other players, so I chose a loan period away.
“It was half a year with HFC Haarlem, the club that no longer exists.
“I did not play forever but it was a great team. The football was not always great but I had a fantastic time.”
From there, Boerrigter signed for FC Zwolle and he enjoyed his two-year spell at the club.
He added: “I walked into my first season there feeling pretty good and made a lot of assists but, in my own opinion, I didn’t score enough goals.
“The second season was better. I scored more and also had enough assists. I had a great game against RKC Waalwijk which fortunately did not go unnoticed.
“That eventually led to a two-year contract with an option for a third season there. I felt great at Waalwijk. The club was alive.”
Boerrigter’s sensational form prompted De Boer to swoop and his career went full circle with a return to Ajax.
However, that love affair between player and coach didn’t last and now Celtic seem to have a man with a point to prove on their hands.
