He skelps who he wants. :54:

It will be much harder to replace Hooper than Wanyama. Wanyama individually is better than Hooper but we never needed a Wanyama really it was just great to have him but we can get decent sitting midfielders who can do a decent job.

When will we ever see a Hooper again though * nos.

They are the two best players we've had since O'Neill's team. Its probably the first time in our history too that we've lost our two best players at the same time.

I agree to an extent but 'best since Henke' overshoots his importance for me as although he might be he's from a different league of player altogether. An outstanding goalscorer no doubt about it but did he do anything more than Skippy did? I'm not sure.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
    Skippy…..51 league goals in 3 seasons (only 26 between years 2 and 3.)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Overall – 64 goals, 23 assists, 127 games. Ratio of pretty much 0.5 bang on in terms of goals. 0.18 for assists.

Hooper….63 league goals in 3 seasons (top scorer each season)

Overall – 82 goals, 33 assists, 138 games. Ratio of pretty much o.6 bang on in terms of goals. 0.24 for assists

So, in short, while you are absolutely right that him and Skippy are relatively close.....Hooper does edge it in all areas statistically, and even as a guy who loved Skippy, my personal thoughts are that he was a different class of player.

In addition, although not at all a massive amount of difference - but in Hooper's favour, he was also younger than Skippy when he did this.

As I say - just my take on it Paul....all an opinions game as we know. One fact for sure is i'm a lot * sicker today than I was when Scott M left. And that's even after knowing in my heart of hearts he was offski over half a year ago.

Sorry to see him go. Thought he was a great player for us though sometimes he did not look interested. Hope he does well down there just to shut the detractors up.If he ever wants to come back then i would be delighted. Also hope it encourages other young talent to come to Celtic knowing that it puts them in the shop window..

Ki, Wanyama, Hooper, and i think Foster will be next to go

if these players do well in the EPL it is a two edged sword for us -- more clubs will look at our players with a view to signing them but hopefully they will be willing to pay realistic prices for them. Good luck and best wishes to all players who have worn the hoops and want to seek fame and fortune elsewhere... they are more likely to find the fortune than the fame / adoration that they found at Paradise
