I know that? but that is a number which he has made his own since he joined Celtic because he was that number at any of his previous clubs?

Gary Hooper signs for Norwich City

GARY Hooper today completed a move to Norwich City. The striker has joined the English Premier League side on a three-year deal, with Norwich having an option on a further year.

The 25-year-old signed for Celtic in 2010 from Scunthorpe United, and over the next three seasons scored 82 goals for the Hoops in 149 appearances, finishing top goalscorer in every season.

He won two league titles and two Scottish Cups, and was part of the Celtic squad which reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Everyone at Celtic would like to thank Gary for his contribution to the club´s success over the past three years and wish him and Norwich City the best of luck for the future.

It will hit him quite quickly that he is playing for a lesser club but the fact that he will be visiting places like Old Trafford and Anfield will excite him to no end. I wish him all the best and look forward to watching him on MOTD :50:

We desperately, desperately need to replace him and fast. Huge gap he's leaving behind him.

Alright fair enough. I just thought that you were under the impression that the 88 was for 1888

Cracking striker and all round player when he was on form. Some people claim his heart wasn't in it and he still got us 31 goals last year. Wish him all the best, done a great job for us and hopefully he will get the call up he deserves this season. One good year down there and he could be in the Squad for the world cup and moving onto bigger and better things.

He has scored a lot of goals as well as some important ones for us, anyone holding a grudge needs to get their head checked.

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
Did a great job for us all the years he was here, and goes with my best wishes in the hope he will come back eventually.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

On our budget, out and out goalscorers are hard to come by in the modern day. Sadly, I think people will realise his value only too well this season, bar some transfer miracle by Park et al.

A born finisher - he'll do fine in the EPL, and will be forming the spearhead of attack with Van Wolfwinkel in my Funtsy Leeg side.

Bit * off, because when FM14 comes out, i'll inherit a Celtic side that will be weaker in attack. Selfish * Hooper.........

£5.2 million for a guy who could sign a pre-contract in 5 months time and leave for nothing.

Not a bad bit or work that.

Wonder if he has a clause in the contract should they get papped out and end up in the Championship next season?

PS - any chance of the thread title being changed if we're only allowed the one? :) *'s not staying!

EDIT - wahey. Now changed. Cheers staffies.

I'm definitely more gutted with Hooper leaving than I was when Victor left. His goals will be missed. I wish him all the best.

One of our best players in the last few seasons. Lovely finisher, and got better every season. The best striker we've had since Hartson left. Wish him all the best in the Premier League.

I really hope he and Wanyama make a huge impact.

Or his goal at Ibrox. Christ he didn't half turn it on against Rangers. A true hunskelper was Hooper.
