Mel out of interest were you at the semis this year. And how many away games were you at this year. This is nothing against you pal. Just trying to build up a picture of who got tickets, and why.

Thats no bother. I cant understand it either i am starting to think its been a lottery.

I was at both semis, Motherwell away and Juventus away. These were all booked under my client code.

I have been to most away games this season but they havent been booked under my client code its just tickets from the guy that runs our bus. So Celtic would have no record of me being at these games.

The only thing i can think that edged it for me was Juve away.

Ive been hearing different stories from different people regarding why they havent got tickets. A girl i know was told fans had to go to both semis, raith rovers at home in the cup, st johnstone at home in the cup and arbroath at home in the cup. I didnt go to Arbroath as i said so its complete nonsense.

Another thing thats making me wonder if its a lottery is that an eleven year old boy was offered a ticket - he hasnt been to any away games and the * that accompanies him to the games never got odfered a ticket yet they have gone to the same matches throughout the season.

How can the club expect an 11 year old boy to go by himself?

    Something is far wrong here.

Ok Thanks Mel not sure we're any further forward there. So it was the home cup games? That's not such a bad thing but the club didn't make that clear from the start. So in the past the semi nearly always ensured you had a final ticket. But not now so its a new rule but tell no *.

No we are no further forward at all.

Every fan seems to be getting told a different story as to why they didnt get one.

Although i have read on my season book renewal that if you are a member of the home cup ticket scheme then you are given priority for semis and finals.

Im not a member though so still doesnt add up as to why ive got one and you dont.

I can fully understand the anger some have at not being offered final tickets. But to say because of that you won't renew next season to me seems a bit drastic. To renew or not is of course a personal choice and I've nothing against that.

I'm not saying the way Celtic have handled the allocation is fair or even makes sense but there is no way they were ever going to keep everyone happy with such a small allocation to start with. No matter what they did or even do in the future this kind of problem is always going to exist.

Let me ask this. If you were in charge of ticket allocations for a final what system would you put in place that would be fair to everyone? Bear in mind you have at present approximately 40,000 ST holders, and several CSC's to satisfy. Don't forget you also have a large number of non ST's that attend many of the games home and away to try and satisfy who for various reasons can't afford to buy ST's.

Even allowing for us being given say 25,000 tickets for a final, simple maths tells you that around 20,000 are not going to get anything. In reality though we will be getting less than 25,000 probably closer to only 20,000 if that even, which makes the distribution even worse.

It should be based on who has attended the most games, home and away

If the tickets are not sold out who will be next in line to get offered one?

TO say they have no plans to offer any more tickets. That could change though and you'd have to keep an eye out on the club website. A lot will also dpend on how many Hibs actually manage to sell. We could be allocated more that way.

I'm pretty certain the take up by those offered wasn't a sell out so either other ST's will get an offer on a first come first served basis, or any tickets left will go to CSC's. No matter what though there will not be a general sale.

It baffles me that people base the purpose of having a season ticket on getting tickets for the bigger games - surely the point of having a season ticket is to financially support the club as well as support the team in every single match? To spit the dummy out the pram just because you're one of the 25,000 odd STs that couldn't be accommodated a ticket and call the staff * whilst proclaiming you won't be back again suggests that the club got it spot on in not offering tickets to such folk...

The system rewards the fans that have the best records in terms of attendance at both home and away matches. 12,000 went to Arbroath at home - where are the fans on days like this? Easy to claim that Hibs etc. don't deserve as much as 20,000 because they didn't have that many at a semi yet people forget the attendances of around 12,000 and 14,000 against Arbroath and St. Johnstone respectively. Going to the semi-finals ought to be because you want to support the team - not because you merely want a guaranteed ticket for the final. We probably had around 23,000 at the semi and we probably have around 18,000 tickets for STs for the final - do the math, people will have to lose out unfortunately. This isn't the fault of the ticket office or whatever.

Don't get how people think they are entitled to a ticket for the final because they have a ST. There's about 40,000 ST holders, thousands will miss out, they can't please everyone

They are * to deal with but. They act like they're doing you a favour.

I think a lot of people would just like to know how they allocated the ticket because it seems to be pretty random. My mate who's been to every game I've attended including the Arbroath and St Johnstone games you mentioned, didn't get a ticket.

It would be fair if they gave a final ticket to every season ticket holder who attended the semi final. I highly doubt there was more than 20000 season ticket holders in attendance at the Semi final. In a situation that there was more season ticket holders in attendance than the final allocation they could then base it on who's attended the most cup games and away games.

Say you were on holiday during the semi-final yet you had went to Arbroath away, a freezing cold December night that it was, and stood in a * ground with 2500 other fans then you'd be rather * off that it'd be based purely on the semi-final. The system used to be based on semi-final attendance and people moaned about how unfair that was and how it should be based on attendance at a broad range of matches for a fairer representation of those that attend the majority as opposed to a minority. Either way, not every fan will be pleased.
