"Victor has been getting some good advice from his brother, Mariga. He moved to Inter, struggled to get into the first team & eventually made his way back to Parma. He's told Victor to be cautious, the grass may not be greener on the other side. I don't blame some of his family members wanting Wanyama to be associated with teams like Man Utd & Arsenal but I think Celtic are one of the biggest Clubs in the World & a place where Wanyama can ensure his career really takes off then maybe in a few years he could move on. His loyalty to Celtic is unquestionable. Personally I would love him to stay at Celtic, wearing the famous 67 jersey & win more trophies." -Kenyan journalist & good friend of Victor Wanyama, Collins Okinyo.

    Good signs!

    I'm not picky.
Hopefully it's true that he does want to stay but seeing as it's from The Hun I'll take it with a barrel load of salt.

I think he could stay another season easy, he has years ahead of him, why not. It will bump up his value and experience and we will love him more for it.

    Massive win win here regardless.

Ufff, that is evil! I had totally resigned myself to Vic going for some months now, now that post has got me thinking there might be a little 5% chance he might sign an extension. :54:

I have very definite views about the type of player we need to sign with his transfer money to move to the next level; but I'd much, much rather have Vic sign an extension and sign nobody.

Am confused about what's left on Wanyama's contract I thought it had 2 years to run? From that article it looks like he wants to stay unless a top 4 EPL club that plays in the CL try to sign him.

If he signed a new contract, I would obviously be delighted for the big man to stay

If he doesn`t want to sign a new contract, sell him this summer and wish him all the best

Did anyone else notice that after Wanyama went off we got out-muscled again? In particular (he didn't rip us a new one like Emenike, but that's presumably because he's not as good a footballer) I thought that Goncalvez was too strong for us. When Wanyama goes in the summer, we're going to be left a little bit lightweight.

He's playing as if he's not wanting to be here anyway.

Get a decent price for him then get him ta *.

As long as the money made is reinvested in the team I actually dont mind. I like Wanyama but I do get the feeling (like several others) he has stopped playing at his best recently.

If we can get £10-15m for him and Lennon is allowed to put that back into team (which I doubt he would be), I think that would be a great bit of business. I think 3 £4m players would make up for Wanyama.

The problem is, I dont think all the money made will be put back into the team

I honestly don't think he's put in a decent shift since we beat barca.

Don't think that's right, he's still had a good few brilliant games since. But if he wanted he could be doing it every week, that's the annoying thing.

Hearing that he will be suspended for the semi final against Dundee United if we are unsuccessful in our appeal!

    * joke if this happens.

If that is true then we need to bite the bullet and not appeal. We cannot gamble with that I would think no matter how big a joke his red card was.

Exactly, even if we lose the appeal we should be able to beat Dundee United without Vic.

That red card was a joke, to not appeal would be ludicrous imo.
