I hate the fact that there's no domestic competition, but given that we have one already, Rangers are going to miss 3 and surely will not be in a position to challenge their first year back in the SPL, that means that we should be sitting on 5-in-a-row already by the time a realistic challenge comes in. I'd rather have competition from the likes of Hearts and Aberdeen etc, but looking for silver linings I think this is possible.

Sevco will go bust for good by then, hopefully.

Definitely a possibility, even if sevco were to get parachuted back into the SPL they're so far behind us in terms of playing staff and financial clout that I think it would still take them 5 or 6 years to be anywhere near challenging us, by that time we could be on 7. By then it would be expected that we would push for 10. This all depends on us keeping our own house in order, which I'm sure we will.

Quite apart from that, the goalposts will have moved for them. We're already a much better side than last year (I would fancy this year's Celtic to absolutely pump last year's Rangers), but 4 years from now we'll be much further down our development cycle and I think we might well be a top European team, so it won't even be enough for them to get back to what they were...unless things go badly wrong for us, they'll at the very least have to get back to the standard of the strongest Rangers side I can remember (2002-2003 season) just to even challenge (and where would they get the money to pay the De Boers of this world?!). Probably even that wouldn't be enough anyway. I can see this as a real possibility. Let's put it this way: it's ours to * up.

I reckon we'll do it, and more, they probably won't even be around when we get 10 in a row!

I hope they are, I was a regular at Parkhead during the 90s, I had to suffer, so I want to watch them suffer. :shamrock:

    You'd have to say yes.

We seem to be on a healthy path and (at the moment) are streets ahead of them in terms of stability and the infrastructure of the club, not to mention the actual quality of our squad.

If we can keep going the way we are we should be in a terrific position to win the title every year.

But complacency could well be an issue, we've already dropped more points at this stage than we did during the whole of last season.

The only team that will be capable of stopping us over the coming years are Sevco. And they are at least 10 years behind us in terms of progression IMO. So 10 ina row is definitely a possiblity.

What an utterly depressing thought for fans of other clubs,no wonder Scottish football is in such a * state. It's a real possibility too.

Very much a possibility, in fact I'd be shocked if we didn't. As the OP said, by the time Sevco get back to the SPL, we'll have already won 5 in a row. That's assuming they get promoted straight up the leagues, which is by no means a guarantee. Based on what I've seen this season I'd expect it to be a close run thing for division 2 next season, and they're certainly not up to winning division one. If and when they do make it back into the SPL, unless they've drastically improved, they'll be relegation fodder. Just look at their games against Caley Thistle and Dundee UTD this season. We'd absolutely destroy them.

Sevco by the time they get to the SPL (the league that Green says they won't ever play in) will be so burdened with debt they will never recover.

Only one, possibly two players in their entire squad are of SPL quality but going stale playing the football they are.

They aren't going to attract a good enough standard of player to the lower league and once they get to the SPL they will effectively have to start over again.

All of this costs money that they can't afford and time they don't have either.

Unless we do something daft the title will be ours for a very very long time.
