Well? Has Lennon assembled an overall better team than Martin O'Neil dd? I honestly believe so.

I believe that this SQUAD is the strongest I have even seen at the club. Starting 11 though, O'Neils is still the better imo. Larsson, Sutton< Lambert, Petrox HArtson, Thommo etc a lot of top top class in there. If we somehow managed to keep this tezm together for the next few years then maybe they would overtake them.

I would swap every player in our team for this man.

The best player I have been lucky enough to see in person don a Celtic jersey. I will be surprised if I see a better player at Celtic in my lifetime.

    Hard Question.

Considering O'Neill spent mega-millions assembling his squad on players who had virtually no sell-on value by the time he left, then I suppose so.

Although he built a squad to rival a cash-dominant Rangers and did so to extremely good effect and ended up in a European cup final.........

O'Neill inherited undoubtedly players that became the nucleus to his squad: Larsson, Lambert, Petrov, as well as McNamara, Boyd etc.

Lennon only has two players left from the squad he took over - Samaras and Zaluska.

The squad is stronger overall, but the core of MON's team (the starting XI basically) was a little bit better than this one.

Hooper is a lesser Larsson, Stokes is a lesser Hartson, Commons is a lesser Moravcik etc.

No comparison in regards to starting 11s. We would not be able to handle their midfield or their strike force. Imagine Larsson, Sutton, Hartson, Moravcik, Agathe, Thompson, Petrov etc against our defence. No thanks haha. But in terms of how little Lennon has spent and how young our team is, I think he has done an outstanding job.

I'll answer that when this squad is broken up in years to come, only fair to judge imo when its the end of this squads cycle :)

Only Commons, Hooper, Wanyama, Forster and Izzaguirre would get into MON's side.

Forster is a million times better than any goalkeeping options MON had as well. I don't miss those days in that regard.

We would have won the UEFA Cup in 2003 with big Forster in goals.

    I agree.

Even a 14 year old Fraser Forster would have been better than Douglas :56::56::56::56::icon_mrgreen:

We'd have won the CL with a decent GK and another world class MF'er.

Martin had an immense core of about 14/15 players who done really well to stay fit the majority of the time.

Nowadays we have about 18/19 genuine first teamers with the likes of McGeouch, Paddy, Lassad, Watt, Miku as back up and the likes of Gershon and Rogic who have started life well at the club.

So to sum up Martins first team was much better but we have such a superior squad these days.
