Hope just for sheer excitement Lenny has something up his sleeve, but far more important we hang on to players.

Wouldnt be surprised to see 1 or 2 squad players leave though.

£7m and we have a big decision to make about Hooper.

Don't think we will sign anyone that will go straight into the first team. There's no one signing that will make us favourites for the Juve game and we don't need anyone to win the SPL.

Yeah, a decision on whether to say "* off" or "* off".
    7mill wouldn't buy his right *.

You're right, i'd much rather we did a QPR and panick-bought every average player under the sun for ridiculous transfer fees and even more ridiculous wages. This financially solvent, prudent, sound business practice we do is really * *.

Peter - hurry up and get us liquidated please!

I thought Norwich's 3rd bid was around the £7m mark and if it wasn't their 4th bid we rejected not that long ago surely was, so there's no decisions to make at that price.

You have to remember though he only has 18 months left on his contract. They are effectively putting a price on how much Hooper's services are worth for 18 months. Anything over £7m has to be seriously considered.

We've never looked back after selling McGeady on. Wouldn't ever want him back.

As I've said before, I wouldn't be let down if we don't sign anyone and make a good profit on Hooper. It's all about next campaign already. Time to give the kids their chance for the rest of the League Season anyway.

On that note, I think we can all agree January 2010 was the most exciting transfer window ever for us. Headline on sky sports with Robbie Keane! Kamara, a Dutch international left back from BAYERN * MUNICH...

Spent the most in Britain ffs!

    Etc etc

Aye, the most exciting day of that season that was.

Kris commons mrs said on twitter a few hours ago that hooper and his mrs are round theirs for dinner tonight so gary obviously doesn't expect to be going anywhere. If the club sell him this window, it shows a lack of ambition imo

We've already rejected 7m - twice, from 2 separate clubs - there's not a chance in * he's leaving for that pitiful amount.
If unproven kids like Zaha can move for 15 mill then Hooper should be 22 at least, I know it doesn't work like that but it's scandalous how underrated he is.

I honestly wouldn't even mind letting him run his contract down and leave for free. He will (massively) help us qualify for the CL at least 1 more time which is worth more than any amount any club will bid for him.
We absolutely cannot let him go tonight unless we get an Andy Carroll like figure. And even then it will just be money in the bank, we won't be able to do anything with it.

Happy enough with the current squad if we keep Hooper. Obviously adding someone like Russell would be a good addition and loaning out some fringe players for experience would be ideal.

We'll only bid for Johnny Russell if a bid for Hooper is accepted which is becoming increasingly unlikely and to be honest if Neil Lennon really wanted Russell anyway we would have bid for him by now, it looks like a non-starter.

Happy with that then. The summer is the best time to get players anyway.

Would only accept selling Hooper if the bid was at least £10m, and if we bought someone like Charlie Austin in straight away.
