Claire McNeilly ‏@ClaireMcBelfast Hundreds of loyalists running to the Albert Bridge Road. Pretty unsettling.

Loyalists shouting come out you * *. Most likely aimed at Short Strand residents.

I have to agree. People died in the name of that flag to defeat nazism. Fairly disrespectful to then say that

Not really, if you lived amongst these animals you would be thinking the same.

Rational thinking needs to come into play here. It's a very small section of the Protestant community who are causing trouble. My Protestant mates are laughing just as much as I am about all of this. Don't tarnish them with the same brush ( I think that's the correct expression)

Car driving past my area today and a woman in the back with a Union Jack waving it shouting "I'm a true Loyalist" next thing... RED LIGHT!! Girl pulled her out of the car and kicked the * outa her :56:

City is mayhem, buses etc all called off today and some shops closing early or not even opening. This is never going to stop anytime soon. Murder in the Strand, fist fights.

Pity they didn't go up to Dublin... I would have loved to see the welcoming that they would have received had they gone there today.

We're talking about loyalists, not Protestants. Don't confuse the two and don't imply others are either. There are plenty of Protestant nationalists and republicans - and plenty of loyalists and unionists who would be aghast at what is going on in East Belfast in their name for that matter.

It's worse than the * swastika flag.

Death to the butchers apron and all those adorned in it.

Since when did 7 million people get massacred under the name of the union flag?

I don't want to get into an argument about this, but it's undeniable that millions have died directly and indirectly as the result of British colonial and military policy.

You are quite right that that is not industrial genocide in a short space of time on the scale of the Holocaust but it is appalling nevertheless.
