Lennons Tactics tonight were awesome ..Playing Matthews at Left back was the best i have seen for a long time and keeping 2 up front and not sitting back was good too ..Would have been easy when sammy came off to put another defender or midfielder on but fair play he fetches on another attacker on :50:

Also letting Barca have the ball out wide was a good move as they mostly want to cut inside rather than cross it. They must be the only side where giving them a corner doesn't really mean anything as they play it short. :50:

To even give him more props he actually bropught on Watt for Lustig.

So at one point we had Watt, Miku, Commons, Sammy on at the one time.

At least i think thats what happened :icon_mrgreen:

The tactics in the Nou Camp and tonight were in advance of anything MON or WGS ever came up with. I honestly believe that.

I've never seen Celtic defend as well as they have in these 2 games against Barca. We had a gameplan and we stuck to it rigidly. The discipline involved was absolutely brilliant.

they were lost in the second half.

When they started spraying it out wide to alves and he tried to cross it in I knew they were rattled.

Onlyother team to beat them this year is Madrid.

    Nice company to keep.

It reaslly was mate. Everyone had a job to do and they stuck to it.

For the amount of time Barca spent in our last 3rd for 180minutes we must have gave away a handful of fouls.

    Incredible.

ILTC, how many fouls did we concede within 35 yards of our goal?

    Let The People Sing,
Lennon has been a tactical genious in europe, not just in the two barca games but in general. Remember we hadn't won away in the champions league and almost certainly would lose every time we would play away but this season lennon has turned it all around. Last year in the europa was a blessing in disguise getting such a hard group, its geared us up fantasticly for europe this year and with a bit of luck who knows how far we can go this year. No one will want to draw us if we do qualify to the last 16 and am pretty certain now that ( if they hadn't allready ) benfica and shaktar will be * it to play us now in the form we are in

So many ignorant imbeciles talking about bus parking and anti football - we played 442 and just deservedly beat Barcelona.

I noticed that as well, from the start of the second half, any time Alves had it, he wanted to put a cross in. Maybe they were told to do that to try and mix it up, but it is very unlike Barcelona to be putting high balls into the box.

no one says anything when every other team does it! Inter and Chelsea both done it, but we get called anti-football, ridiculous!

Taccally, bringing on Tony Watt for Lustig was an absolute act of madness...

Until it was proven to be a stroke of utter genius!

One leap of faith that truly yielded a miracle. I also loved our use of the little possession we had. Get the ball to Commons or Mulgrew, and cross it to Sammy/Miku, pronto. Barca were in trouble a few times as that happened.

I thought it was a stick on that he was replacing Sammy.

I very near shat myself when I seen Lustig come off. :smiley-laughing002:

At that point we had Sammy, Miku, Commons and Watt on the park.

    Anti football my *.

We got pinned back the whole night basically but we took our chances and all credit to lennon for bringing on watt who scored the goal that ended up being the winner. Bravo.

    I'm not picky.
Noticed this as well. They love to cut teams open with their fantastic one-touch football through the middle of defences, but we kept it good and tight through there last night.

They are at the weakest (if that's possible for Barcelona :icon_mrgreen:) out wide because they don't have any big tall guys to aim for with their crosses. Even when they went out wide, though, Matthews and Lustig went out and closed them down quick and at times their players got doubled up on.

Tactics were spot on from Lennon last night. We didn't go out on purpose to sit back with 10 men behind the ball and just sit there and hope for the best. The formation put out with Sammy just behind Miku (or was it Miku just behind Sammy?) in a sort of 4-4-1-1 formation showed that. Wasn't this 4-6-0 * that a certain manager put out before.

The whole night was spot on :50:
