No, this isn't a joke. Found it out last night.

Nakamura's agent has said that he has received offers from China, Middle East and Celtic for Naka, and Celtic want him to retire in Scotland. His contract is up at the end of this season but could stay on at Yokohama Marino's if he chooses to.

Will try to get a link in English, all I've found is articles all over the Japanese media.

EDIT: link in Japanese - http://www.sponichi.co.jp/soccer/news/2012/11/02/kiji/K20121102004464090.html

    Wow!

    This could be exciting!

If we pull this off would definitely bring in more cash!

We are all Peter Lawwell!! :)

Well I think (if I put my Peter Lawwell-esque thinking cap on) now that Ki is away, Nakamura would DEFINITELY boost the shirt sales in Asia.

You know if he still has the magic I would do it in a second, play him behind the striker and let him dictate play. Heavily experienced and we need a playmaker. 34 now but still? I would take it.

At a push, I'd give him a 6/12 month contract to see what he can do. Give him a few cameo appearances and play him instead of Commons the odd time in the league to give Kris a break.

I cant see it happening. He may not even get a game!I suppose it depends on many things.....not least, what he himself has in his mind.If its nostalgia...then maybe!

Can't see it happening and can't say I'd be too fussed on him coming back.

No way, he'd be far too slow and weak now.

Can't see this happening. Let's be honest, why the * would he want to retire in Scotland? I would imagine he will stay on at the club he is at until retirement or another club in his country.

He is the one type of player we could actually do with.

Fitness wise, he always kept himself in good shape, and his game never depended on pace and physicality anyhow.

He's about the same age as Pirlo, and I'd definitely have Pirlo...

But sometimes it's better to remember a classic player as they were... we'll see what happens...

Would be perfect, he would be on low wages and retire at HIS CLUB CELTIC. Some sub appereances and free kicks in the spl wouldt steal any game time from other players

He's 34, but still has the ability to play for Celtic. He's scored 4 free kicks in the last 3 weeks. I remember him saying he wants to retire in Japan, but if everything falls into place I'm sure he'd love to come back for a bit - the fans adore him.

Reacquisition after another eager Celtic Shunsuke offers from abroad
It has been found that has received multiple offers from abroad (34) former Japan national team MF Shunsuke Nakamura of Yokohama Yokohama contract as far as this season ends. Revealed the site "Calcio Mercato" professional Italian football "and has received a number of Middle East offers club, China, and from former club Celtic" is Mr. Roberto Tsukuda agent. That they sent a fervent Rabukoru "We are eager to reacquire want to retire in Scotland" Celtic played for five years from 05 years and among them (Mr. Tsukuda). Approached to offer a multi-year contract remaining in Yokohama already free. To play next season, but it is also rich in Yokohama and talking with Mr. Tsukuda "I think eventually when you update a contract with Yokohama" Keep an eye on future trends.

    Google translate, bit dodgy.
I'd take him in an instant.

It's different I know, but Lubo was 33 when we signed him. Players like him and Naka don't lose much as they get older as there game isn't based on physical aspects. It's why Scholes is still getting a game for Man Utd at 37, and Giggs as well to an extent as he's been able to adapt to losing his pace because he's so good technically. In terms of technical ability there is a lot Naka could teach some of the players in our squad. It would be worth having him back for that alone.
