If we're all being honest, the atmosphere in all Celtic home matches bar the odd European fixture has deteriorated to almost Strachan era levels in the past year or so. The 5 home games against Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee, Hearts (some said this would be the fixture to somewhat replaces the ex Glasgow derby) and Kilmarnock (today) have all been disappointing. Against Barcelona before kick off and if we are to score/get a positive result? It'll be rocking. Following the death of Rangers, will any SPL game produce that excitement this season or in the next 3-4 years? Not a chance as it stands.

The Green Brigade are, admirably, consistent with their backing for the team throughout the matches, however they could play more of a part in enticing the other thousands of other supporters/3 stands of Celtic Park to join in and enhance the atmosphere, rather than perform renditions that merely they will know and enjoy This is not a criticism, merely a suggestion. Do they really believe the long, slow, dirge of Cellllllllllllllllllltic Celtiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic Celtiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic is going to be embraced by the rest of us? Even JCGE has lost it's appeal and quite frankly the COYBIG callback - when they remember to do it at all - hasn't had the same effect either, not to mention it should be done in the 2nd half and not the 1st! While I'm not getting into a debate about rebel songs being sung at matches and all, it doesn't take a genius to work out that many internally cringe at the end of the Celtic symphony, a great song by the way, at the Ooooh Aaaah Up the Ra part and indeed 'Celts' or 'Samaras' would adequately fill the void permanently in said lyrics. The prolonging of spontaneous songs like the Don't sell McCourt and This is the day that we won away are also a tad tiresome.

On the positive side, their banners and creativity are essential and when they go about it in the correct manner, their political messages are well executed and generally they promote the ethos of the club well. The introduction of The Huddle celebration in big games, which I do agree should be limited to big games, was clearly a masterstroke. Also they stick with the team to the very end, unlike a large section of the support today in terms of leaving extremely prematurely. The stadium would be dead without them so perhaps the Jock Stein stand needs their own Green Brigade type group set up? Perhaps asking the wider fanbase through social media what songs they'd like them to start singing? Or is it just simply natural for the rest of the stadium to be silent/content at watching the game and nothing more? I'm just spitballing here so I'll leave it to you bhoys and ghirls for ideas and suggestions. You are also perfectly entitled to say this thread is about as useful as a * flavoured lollipop.

We need to have a bigger singing section. If people want to stand with the GB and sing they should be able to. If people want to sit, eat pies, moan at the team and generally be grumpy, fat * they should be able.

They were loud all day mate.

I was sat in 411 above and right of them today and they sang non stop.

They also sang The Celtic Song (repeatedly, especially in the second half when we needed a lift) LTPS, This Land, The Fields (twice in its entirety), The Loansome Boatman (I love it) and JCGE even they stopped singing after a while.

Only COYBIG got the crowd going today and it only lasted one round.

The Green Brigade are far from being the problem Frank, thank * they are there.

Wasn't the best from the section today and the worst COYBIG I only think due to timing.

    Let the people sing,
The COYBIG was awfully quiet today due to the full Jock Stein stand sleeping.

I'm not suggesting they are the problem, believe it or not. I'm just suggesting their influence could provide a potential solution.

    They tried everything today.

For the last 30 minutes it was nothing but The Celtic Song, The fields, JCGE, Get intae thum (not a fan myself but it seems to rouse some folk)

There was a few more but its not the point.

they tried to get people involved today and if it's not happening then that isn't their fault.

Nothing will improve until the GB move somewhere else like proper ultras from Italy, Germany ect.

I was against it at 1st but they defo need to move behind one of the goals and have only participants in that area because it annoys me and must * infuriate them seeing so many lazy * right in their section! I don't understand how you can be 2 metres away from the GB yet just sit there like a statue for 90 mins (well, 85 cos these type of * always leave early)

I bought tickets online the other day (Thurday) and 111 was sold out, 109, 110, 112, 113 had limited tickets (all of them the furthest from the GB down the front), above them in 410, 411 (where I was), 412, 413 where all sold out down the front closest to the GB.

People are gravitating towards them but not to sing themselves.

Too many folk that are trying to get close to them are only doing so for the atmosphere the GB bring, not to help bring it themselves.

That happened twice during the game. After they scored.

Admittedly, they got a good chorus of the 'Killie Boys' going shortly after the game kicked off. Around 5-10 minutes in. They didn't score until the 43rd minute.

They didn't sound louder to me.

Like I said after their goals or maybe one or two moments in the game they got a song off but for the most time it was the GB singing.

The GB even started the "can you hear the celtic sing", don't know if anyone thought that was the Kilmarnock fans.

Well I watch enough streams so I know they can be misleading at times but I can assure you the Kilmarnock fans weren't as loud as the Celtic fans.

There was only about 300 of them.

Exactly mate, I don't understand that mentality at all - you wouldn't buy front row tickets for a gig and sit down with your arms folded as the music belted out!
Standing section needs to come in ASAP. We just need to copy everything the Germans do with regards to football because their attendances, prices and atmospheres are all fantastic.

I think a standing/singing section would really help also I think it would be better if the GB picked more songs that the whole crowd can join in with, as nobody seems to join in with stuff like lonesome boatman etc whereas stuff like Paddy McCourt's * army, JCGE, YNWA, GOYBIG all get the crowd going. Obviously we shouldn't have to always rely on the GB to get the crowd singing that is why I mentioned the standing/singing section first as I think that would be more helpful.
