To be honest; I'm * * myself. In all of our Champions League years, with much better teams than this one we have just now, we have never came up against the quality of this Barcelona team....

Looking forward to it all the same, need to show them what Celtic are all about.

It's critical that Big Vic doesn't get caught behind his man and that he doesn't get an early booking.

All the talk of Barcelona has me excited, it's great to be back playing against their likes. As long as I see 100% effort from every player that pulls on the strip against them, then I'm happy.

It's time to let the footballing world know, Celtic are back!

I don't know if has already been stated but our two teams have a great mutual respect for one another and it is this respect that makes me believe they are going to get fired up and give us a game to remember.

the single most difficult problem we will have is keeping hold of the ball when we have it, our players will have to turn into mini Hulks and have 20-20 vision when it comes to passing as trying to dispossess them is going to drain most of our energy.

However they are missing a few key defensive players for our two games which could work in our favour if only alittle of course and their full backs especially Alves pretty much spends most of his time in the oppositions area rather then his own, so that could be something the likes of Sammy can exploit.

Personally if we have any chance of getting a draw or * even a win we are going to need Sammy to be on top form along with Forster and all our midfield, some like Hooper just needs a few chances and he will put one of them away

The teams don't, the clubs might, the fans might. The teams don't.

The fans and Xavi is all it takes imo in the best he has made some shining comments about Celtic and will be making sure he is saying all the right things to get his team mates fired up.

plus the atmosphere will be electric, one of the single most hair raising experience I have ever had was at parkhead and we sang YNWA in respect to the Madrid train bombings it was truly amazing.

    I know what you mean.

But I pretty much think Messi, Xavi and Iniesta will be thinking who the * is this * when Hooper sitcks his 4th of the night in :56:

There is no point in sitting back and waiting on the inevitable. Barca will score at some point, we have to have a go at them. They can be extremely vulnerable defensively especially with Busquets and Puyol out. I'm more confident I'm our chances of scoring against Barcelona than I am against say Juventus for example. Defensively they are no where near the best team in the world. They are good at pressing high up the park but if we get at their back line we have an outside chance of getting something.

I'm with Dev on this one, would give the yoof a chance against St Mirren.

I would include a couple more regulars though, to steady the ship - a disorganised defeat to St Mirren could have a negative effect on the newer lads...

Having said that, I don't see it happening - I think Lenny's outlook is more, give the 1st team a weekend runout before the big Euro game...

A mix of youth and experience.... i.e. Miku and Lassad as well as Ledley, Wilson, Rogne in there (21 but has enough experience) with big Forster in goal and McCourt on the pitch.

That is well over half the squad and should be good enough.

Yep, I'd take your original team and add Ledley in - and one other regular, maybe Lustig...

    Miku Watt

    Ledley Twardzik Kayal McGeough

    Chalmers Wilson Rogne Lustig

    Forster

STOP DOING YOUR TEAM LIKE THAT!!!!!

Watt must start though and with the amount of interviews he's been doing this week I think he will.

Why is it I'm still looking forward to the Barca game so much, even though I'm pretty confident we'll get horsed? :smiley-laughing002:

On one level it makes no sense at all...

    It makes perfect sense.

Barcelona or not invincible - there's a chance that we could take something off them, or at least give them one helluva game.
