Looks like we tried to get O'Connor. He would have been not bad, but not ideal for Europe. SPL standard at best.

We also need to remember that not only is McFadden pish awful but he was acting a bit billy big bollocks the last time we were linked with him.

Hope this is not true tbh.

Not a * chance we tried for O'Connor, we have turned him down numerous times.

Think the O'Connor thing sounds like utter rubbish. We could have signed him for free a couple of times. Why would we try to loan him in now when we could have got for nothing in June. Not good enough anyway.

Yes he did I seen him say it on Sky. Claimed that we made (paraphrasing a bit here) a derisory offer for him in terms of wages. Now he cant find a club he can go and * himself. He's * and always has been. Which is ironic as he now is a has been.

Won't be Michael Owen, Lennon has already stated that there's no truth in the rumours.

Garry O'Connor is full of *! There's no way Celtic would be interested in a convicted coke-head!

'Who is the free striker?' :56:

Is this like 'who is the stig?' - is there a fella stoating around Lennoxtown with a massive helmet on or something?

No, but Lenny revealed last night that there will probably be another free agent striker signing for us before the deadline on Monday night. Which begs the question; who is the free striker?

For my money, I think when they wheek off his mask it'll be Ally McCoist. I mean, with his managerial record, he's got to be looking for alternative employment, right? And if we mean 'free' as in 'free to remain silent' then he'd be perfect in front of goal. Why has no one thought of this sooner? :50:

After all, we're supposed to believe he's the best striker Scotland's ever had, and that Walter Smith is the second coming, and that Charles Green's going to buy Lionel Messi, and that they'll win everything on offer in the SFL, and the Daily Record will have its precious derby back, and everything will be back to 'normal', aren't we? So expect the Sunday papers to be running with this tomorrow - it's no less nonsensical than everything else they've been saying over the past few months.

Right knowing this lad is now released it all makes sense.

Friend of mine is a Southend fan and he was playing for them, but was involved in some mad * - leaving at half time and driving away in his car. - disappearing to France for two months, etc. I even saw him play last season- he strikes me as a bit of a frustrated genius - similar to Samaras in that he has a top, middle and bottom drawer but certainly raw talent. Can play up front or CB. Tall, over 6ft

My money's on him. Think he's either on or has been on trial...

McFadden would make sense, because Lenny said he was looking for a left sided player as well, but I really really hope it's not McFadden. In fact I'd rather sign no one than some of the names thrown around (Faddy, Owen, Heskey etc).

The article says they're meeting next week, CL registration deadline is Monday 11pm, not much leeway.
