    I'd love to see him at Celtic tbh, the experience and what other players, we've a very young squad, could learn from him on and off the field would be immense. One of my favourite players ever is just the icing on the cake!

    Would absolutely love seeing him play for us in the Hoops but I can't see it happening to be honest.

    At the end of the day if he still wants to compete football wise he would be wise to come here.

    If he wants a retirement home in the sun he wont and we would be better without him if thats the case.

    I was reading an article the other day that the main reason Sydney FC want him is to attract the large italian population in sydney to watch a league games rather than just the sydney premier league

    I think Del Piero could be a good signing for us.

    But the ecstatic reaction in some quarters kinda confirms something I've noticed a number of times on here - probably true of most football supporters, not just Celtic fans - that a many folk place a very high value of the feelgood factor. I mean that signing a big name player makes fans feel good about the club, even if he wouldn't be that valuable to us long-term...

    Let's face it, at 37/38 Del Piero is not likely to be a huge scene-changer for us.

    For example, some folk railed against our club's lack of ambition when we brought Gary Hooper from Scunthorpe - but even if we do get Del Piero, Hoops will still have been a bigger signing for us.

    He'd definitely bring the crowds in and not just in Sydney, wherever in Australia that he plays. He'd be huge for the sport in this country.

    Would love to see him play in Australia, but wouldn't mind if he signed for Celtic either. All depends if he wants to play in Europe or come over here to enjoy the Australian summer...

    Del Piero never really relied on speed or strength also he looks after himself so his age isnt a major factor for me.
