James Forrest

Forrest has been poor but shouldn't be given up on that would be mental. And fans on his back during the games helps no one.

 

Forrest is under performing recently there is no doubt about that. He shouldn't even be near the team today if Stokes and Commons are fit.

But he did well in his cameos last season and some of this season, although most of his football this season came at a time when the whole team was struggling with the new system.

If Forrest wants to be a part of this team then he must be completely injury free, because only then can he push himself to reach the fitness levels of his team mates.

Ronny sees him as a project, one I'm willing to give the manager time to fix.

 

He's not put in plenty of performances as he's been constantly injured.

 

One thing I will say is, he should be champing at the * bit to get out there and prove something, expecially if he's been injury free for a good while.

He hasn't been doing nearly enough recently.

 

Think we can all agree on that.

 

When he came on on Wednesday he just didn't seem willing or able to play in the inverted winger system (if that's the right phrase) that Ronny wants. Kept coming over to the left. Really liked the wee man when he first broke through but he's been * of late and certainly doesn't seem comfortable playing on the right.

 

Nobody would argue that they were/are worse players for Celtic than Forrest is/has been. Only an idiot would call any of those 3 useless or would call Hooper lazy.

 

"Injuries have stopped him giving his all" what a load of * , Henrik Larsson had the most severe injuries I've seen of any Celtic player in my time yet he came back a better player every time.

James Forrest will only improve if he wants to , if he has the desire it takes and if he has the hart as ability is never enough.

 

He is obviously not Henrik, but a leg break can be easier to recover from than a series of muscle related injuries.

And injuries have stopped him giving his all as he's not been on the park to give it.

Big game for him today. Let's get behind him.

 

Broken jaw as well , of course he's not Henrik ability wise but there is nothing stopping a similar attitude. Injuries are no excuse as he has had plenty of game time.

I am backing him , I want him to give his best and turn in a good performance , but he needs to want it more than anyone and be brave enough to deliver.

 

I take it you never had a bad injury. I done my cruciciate 3 times in the same knee. It is not easy to come back from an injury, Larrson was exceptional and should not be used as an example. In fact a leg break far easier to recover from than some muscle or ligament injures.

 

We should get an idea of his desire today.
