K Wilson and M Lustig, your thoughts?

Lustig plays better in the center of defense and Wilson looks a bit slow, the thing is, he had some solid performances last year. His form dipped when Majstorovitc wasn't playing.

But if he plays in a back three, he'll get mugged time and again.

 

I actually like the look of Lustig. Tall, quick, decent cross on him and gets into good areas going forward. He's maybe a bit lightweight for a defender but I'd imagine that'll improve as he adapts to the game over here. Still a lot to prove but I think he'll turn out to be a good signing.

As for Kelvin Wilson he has to do it this season or time's up. Thought he started his Celtic career off well but got injured and has been * poor ever since. I'd like put that down to rustiness but he's been poor in pre-season (although he played well today). Give him another season and if he's still pish, punt.

Did Kelvin Wilson "* through" the CIS Cup Final against Kilmarnock or the SC Semi Final against Hearts?

My thoughts exactly, the man is a liability in ALL competitions against ALL potential teams we'll face this season both domestically and European wise.

 

Sean, Kelvin isn't even SPL standard. If he is he's Dundee standard.

 

You guys misunderstand me.

When I say Kelvin would * the SPL I mean that we would still win the SPL if Wilson played every match.

no way would one man stop us from winning the SPL.

To keep it short, I want Wilson out the door and Lustig still has everything to prove.

 

Wilson is terrible, would like him to turn out to be good but don't see it happening.

Lustig played well today and also played well when he came on as a sub for Sweden in the Euro's. I think we should experiment with him in at CB alongside Mulgrew more often.

 

Well I'd agree with that Sean but it would be by a smaller margin than it would be and I'm sure you agree that you don't want him involved in our European fixtures.

 

Can't add much more to this. Loovens is better than Wilson.
But Wilson does have pace. Just can't turn with pace, acceleration is poor as well as his positioning, decision making when passing the ball out of the defence. Basically he is pish.

We all want a centre half, but really we need 2. Mulgrew has made that position his own, Rogne (despite some dodgy preseason games) is still a good player, and Lustig, well we've only seen one game at CB (well I have) and he done well against some top European players.

So if the question is Wilson or Lustig.......even after just 1 preseason game, I'd go Lustig.

(oh aye.....Wanyama as well. Is there really any need for Wilson?)

He is not the answer and never will be.

 

I think Lustig played pretty well at the Euros, and I'd be a lot more confident in him at CB than Kelvin.

For me Lustig should be competing with Rogne for the right-side CB spot, and also providing cover at RB in case Matthews gets injured or suspended.

Lustig played well today, had showed decent signs, I think even if big Wilson started to come good, he'll never fit in.

Shame, came with a decent rep.

 

Not keen on wilson, lustigs growing on me though, wasnt great at the start when he joined but has improved i think, played well today aswell as a CB.

 

Wilson looked good against hibs first game last season but showed us how bad he really is soon after, not celtic quality imo

Lustig seems decent, has barely played but has impressed me somewhat when he has, think he could work in a back three with him on the right, Rogne in the centre and Chico on the left. If we dont sign a new CB that is.

 

back three is too suicidal, why the ginger one thought of that against Ajax was beyond me
