    * has proven he can score at international level,Stokes hasn't

I'd back him to do better in Europe than Stokes any day

that's a fair point, I just don't think he's as much of an improvement as we'd need. Negligible I'd say.

    * is better than stokes and ahead of him in pecking order internationally and from what i have seen i think * and hooper would work better than stokes and hooper

    I agree

I wouldn't like to see him sign unless Stokes was moving on

Stokes has done it in Europe. * hasn't.

Infact Tony Stokes was our best player in Europe last year.

Really hope there is nothing in this, not what we need and not better than what we have.

3 in 14 is a pretty poor international return, especially considering all 3 goals were in friendlies and one was against a depleted Northern Ireland side. That's hardly 'proven' at international level.

What is more significant and surprisingly being overlooked by most people is that he has only scored 1 league goal in the last two seasons. Fortune is preferred to him at West Brom; this would be a step backwards.

Great news. Light years ahead of Leon Best who just went for 3m I think?
This would be a good buy.

Wouldn't mind having him on the bench but it depends on wages and fee. This may mean that Murphy will move on.
