As expected, Cardiff have the deal nearly done, work permits/medicals and what not to be finalised.

    £2.5m fee & £25k p/w according to Sports Hochi

Considering what has happened at Cardiff, is it really a surprise?

That Celtic cannot afford to compete with that.

Celtic could pay £2.5m and 25k a week if we wanted, how could we not compete?

Not for a young, unproven, not guarenteed first starter.

We do that all the other players in the squad would want that wage, how can we justify doing the but not having Izzys, Stokes, Forrests, Wanyama's etc wages that high? We can't.

    Hence we can't afford it.

Vincent Tan is not as wealthy as he makes out he is. He shouts his figures in the news more than anything else. They say he is worth 800 million but there is serious doubts as the majority is tied up in business that are being wrapped up, or used by the malaysian gov to keep money in the country.

By all accounts, my impression when I was living there earlier this year is he is a bit of a Malaysian Chinese Craig Whyte.

They have said they want to go for big named Asian players for the past year or two to boost the rep in Japan and Korea as well as China, but have failed or not put in the required bids they said they would. Also, their plans to get the Malaysian football fans (majority support the big 4 in England) to support cardiff has been a flat failure, my best mate out this way lives in KL and constantly walks around with the Cardiff top on and no one notices who they are.

Just a punt by the consertative chinese in the hope that promotion would be achieved in which they would make a * tonne of money and bail.

I really don't see this guy signing for them, I think he may end up with us or I have heard out here Sunderland & Fulham.
