I think Ki wants to leave because his best mate Cha left...

Whenever my mates are trying to have a go at me they say Ki and Cha are partners :56:

There was a rumor that when Cha leaving was the first signs of Ki's departure. I think Cha helped him settle a fair bit and mentored him personally.

Cha might have been a * player, be seemed like a decent guy to have around, especially if you are country mates. Just going from the photos and status updates both of them posted on twitter, etc etc.

Ah well, we move on... Hopefully we venture more into Korea/Japanese markets...

Commons went off injured, Ledley unavailable against ICT if I'm not mistaken... I think we need to keep Ki here, for cover at least.

Ki has 16 months left on his contract and supposedly wants to leave us so we have to sell him. Getting nearly £6m and a sell on clause is good business so we need to sell him now before his value decreases. Only problem is that he is our best ball player in centre midfield. Watching tonights game proves we need a centre mid capable of holding a ball. We have plenty of diggers that can play in the middle but we dont have a playmaker amongst them and when we hit the champions league group stages we need to learn to try and keep a hold of the ball.

Good luck Ki though. Swansea are a good footballing team so hoefully they suit your style.

Samaras, Forrest, Brown, Kayal, Wanyama, McCourt, Mulgrew...

take your pick as that's our options against Caley if Commons and Ledley are out.

i like Ki but he is the most sellable asset we have in midfield. we won't really miss him and we're guaranteed a good fee.

Just seen Ki speaking on channel news Asia.

Missed half of it but the back end was something about staying at Celtic is not out of the question if a new contract is offered.

Please be true, should be a link backing it up in a few hours.

Strange, Channel news Asia is a Singaporean mouthpiece and has never really taken an interest in us. Recently we have made their news with champions league and this Ki stuff.

I wouldn't be opposed to him staying here another couple of years. Useful back-up player, unless we're going to replace him.

We're in no rush to sell him. In fact, we're totally in control. He has more than a year on his current deal, doesn't mind it here, CL football is ahead, etc.

And he's a talented enough player.

Would need him on a longer contract. Asian lads never seem in a rush to jump to big leagues compared to the likes of brazilians etc etc. would probably serve him better gaining another year with us in the champs league, signing a new contract and moving on a year or two down the line.

Wait and see. Typical sky sports news rushing a deal that involves an epl club to make headlines, I think this deal is a bit further off than we have been told

    Please don't be true.

Ki is a great player but he isn't a first pick.

Hardly, Lenny has said it's in 'advanced discussions' and 'hopefully it goes through.' We don't want him.

Surprisingly shocked at the amount of people on here that would want to sell a talented young player when as previously stated in the media and going back through this thread, it's not exactly going to make a huge impact financially.

Aye, get him on for a new 4-5 year deal, but sell him halfway through. It would give him time to grow as a player and raise his stock value, as well. If we keep him here for even another year, he may be worth an extra couple of million.

*shrugs* But we'll see what the board decides.
