    This.

After a good season in the CL (fingers crossed) his value will increase anyway.

Wanyama has fast become one of my favourite players.

Lets hope he's here for a good few years yet.

    Good stuff.

Easily in my top five players at the club. Hope he stays for another couple of years at least! With his talent staying at Celtic winning trophies, we will decent money when the right time comes to sell him. Just not now. :icon_mrgreen:

The fact he wants to leave saddens me, but if he wants to go i would let him go and give others a chance who actually want to be at the club.

Fantastic talent but Lenny is absolutely spot on. Quit spouting * in the media. Wouldn`t let him go for any less than £10m. The potential is there for big Vic to perform at the very top of the game

One good crack at the champions league with vic in our side and he could be our record selling fee imo.

i want 2 more seasons out of him but i think we will only have 1

Same old same old every year prior to kick off. The hun o,clock news has nothing positive ever to print about and loves to upset the apple cart every chance they get .Great player but most of our squad would love to play in the premiership so whats new HAIL HAIL

you can say the same with teams like Ajax these days, but its just like any profession, most players we have dont have childhood connections to Celtic, so if they get an offer elsewhere on more money, then theyll go for it(barring a few exceptions) i mean, if i was working somewhere on £7 an hour and got an offer to do a similar job elsewhere for £14 an hour, id jump at it, so i can understand why footballers are money grabbers, its a short Career after all

just sucks for us fans :/

Exactly right. Im sure 99% of us would leave the company we work for if another offered to double our wages. I wouldnt object to any player leaving for that reason.

Both parties should be sensible here. If Wanyama wants to go then Celtic should make it clear they havent had an offer that is acceptable, but this season he has a european platform to show his talents. If he can shine this season then no doubt he will become a top target for EPL teams and he could move on next year. Will we get a decent sum for him, and he will hoepfully get some champions league exposure, and a couple more winners medals.

As much as we get attached to players our model now is to buy young, develop and sell on. were 2 years into Lennons reign now and were reachin the "sell on" stage in the next 12 months (it may only be 2 or 3). Its just how we'll operate going forward.

Lets just enjoy the players while theyre here and not be bitter if the move on like the sevco loyal!

Ajax have no problems selling on their talented players, it allows them to finance their academy and bring more through, and allowing them to compete at the same time. Its a model we should adopt.

There is no loyalty in football anymore, we have not done as well in this area over the last few years as we may have done. McGeady aside.

I don't really agree with this. £7 and £14 an hour is huge difference for someone who is clearly not very wealthy. There is also no real question of loyalty when you're talking about a normal job.

For instance, say I'm playing for Aston Villa (i.e Celtic for our players) and I'm getting £15k a week. I've played for them for 1 or 2 years and I'm quite settled. The team is on the rise and there's good harmony in the squad. If Getafe come in with a £25k a week offer for me I'd say nah * that.. for the reason that I would have connected with the fans and would owe a bit of loyalty to them.. That coupled with the probability that a move to Getafe would not improve my career. However if Valencia or Udinese or any other club of that ilk came in with a £20k+ a week offer for me I'd go as it's a genuine chance to advance my career and play on the biggest stage in Europe. I'd never begrudge any of our players a move to a big club on the rise like that in a better league.

It's difficult with the Aston Villa comparison though as they're not playing in Europe and are playing in a better league. the opposite to our situation.

Same thing goes though.. I would be very disappointed if one of our better players went to a club like Stoke or Fulham rather than staying here and playing in the Champions League and showing a bit of loyalty to the fans and Neil Lennon. What you have to remember is; Kayal, Izaguirre, Stokes and Mulgrew to name but a few (especially Kayal and Izaguirre) were nobodies when they came here. Neil Lennon (John Park and the backroom staff aswell) have vastly improved their careers and the players owe a little bit of loyalty to Lennon for that.

They would be using teams like stoke/ fulham as stepping
stones as well if the chance arose because they would be in the
    epl shop window.

Would like to see him stay for at least 2 seasons or more but as Jay Jay said he could be the player that breaks the selling fee so would be happy to let him go if thats the case.

Stoke and Fulham aren't a step forward from Celtic. f they stayed here they'd be in the European shop window i.e. the Champions League

Can anyone tell me why he's not with the team training in Germany? All his twitter posts show him in Kenya or am I reading this wrong?
