I can't agree with last part because Schildenfeld made some stupid fouls including penalty.. but Modrić was just outstanding, he played really fantastic, Mandzukic as well (obviously)... it is hard to find weak link in our side... Corluka was quilty for the goal... but after that he played well..

We were better side and deserved to win, but I must praise your fans... great support for Irish side despite the loss... masive respect :50:

Jelavic is fantastic player, i claimed that when he played for rangers, and i will say this again: too bad that celtic didn't buy him when he was rapid player..

I think Doyle is *, Does he play for Celtic? NO
I think Ward is the weak link of the team, does he play for Celtic? No

I think Walters should start for Ireland and he played ok today? Please tell me how that means I think he's *'s gift? Go on tell me

I think McGeady is a good player and should start for Ireland, but he wasn't good tonight, Duff was better, particularly in the second half. So how do I under rate McGeady? By saying his final ball isnt up to scratch? It isnt.

See what you said therer, I seem to under rate any Celtic or ex Celtic player in the Irish squad? That is absolute bollocks. Robbie Keane played for Celtic, anyone who knows me at all knows I adore him as a player. Darren O'Dea, I have always said Celtic should keep him and he is a good defender, under rating how ?

Given played for Celtic, I think he is one of the best keepers in the world.

I think Stokes should be in the squad, he plays for Celtic..

    You're talking absolute bollocks Paul.

Kevin Doyle was our best player until he was taken off. McGeady done ok but he was up against a very good player in Srna and struggled to get into the game at times. Croatia`s goals were lucky but overall, they deserved the win. Modric just completely ran the show. That team could go far, the CB pairing the weak link in the team though

He really is an incredible talent. He looks so effortless as well.

Croatia are a defensive partnership away from being a great side. Ireland are average

    Paul-

    1) McGeady was *. Every time the ball came to him he got rid, won about 2 throw ins by running at men and that was it. Aye he hit a good FK.
    2) Ball came to Duff more, and he wasn't afraid to take a man on and come inside. He no question had twice as good a game as McGeady.
    3) Keane waits for the ball, he doesn't go up and win the headers, hes a finisher. Nothing made its way through to him, and as Celtic <3 said, he didn't get the service.
    4) Doyle was SUPPOSED to be the target man, who went up and knocked the ball down to others. He failed to do that almost every time.
    5) When Walters came on, he did a much better job than Doyle did.

EDIT: Actually naw, in fairness, Doyle did it alright a few times. But considering almost every ball went his way, he didn't win nearly enough.

Yeah, Dejan Lovren is out... and Corluka & Schildenfeld weren't that good at the moments.. we have Vida and Simunic on the bench..

100% correct. Paul you're the only one here that is showing any bias to be honest, accusing me of being biased against Celtic players when I am a Celtic fan is just ridiculous.

By the way, we absolutely bottled it in the first few minutes. Took us 5 minutes to settle down and that was enough for Croatia to get their opening goal.

Harsh to say we 'bottled it'...you can't bottle a game in the opening few minutes. Every team begins differently. We've never been particularly quick out of the blocks.

Croatia scored a fluke, that's life. Good luck to them for the rest of the tournament. We'll have a go against Spain and Italy.

The occasion got to them IMO. A shame really, although there's no doubting that Croatia were extremely lucky in all 3 of their goals.

Some feeling when St.Ledger scored, watched the game with about 10 of my mates in a house and we went absolutely mental, It was funny though, when St.Ledger headed it there was a whistle from the crowd so we all just stopped cheering for a second, and then it came up 1-1 and we started going mental again:56::56: . Pity we couldnt get a second.

I can only imagine what it'll be like if we got a winner against Spain, as unlikely as it is.

My team for Spain would be

    Given
    O'Shea Dunne St.Ledger Ward
    Duff Whelan Andrews McGeady
    Keane
    Walters

No one else to play left back but I dont rate Ward at all. Also, if McGeady is playing bad, or Duff for that matter I'd take them off at half time for McLean.

I like the idea of dropping one of our strikers for Gibson, as others have suggested. Also, adding McClean in place of Duff is another good idea.

Defence will be changed after the tournament. Clarke and Coleman should be in the line-up.

I know it defies all logic but I can see us getting something of spain

As trap would say, all is possible :celt_2:

    ----------------Given----------------
    O`Shea-----Dunne-St Ledger----Ward
    ------------Gibson-Andrews----------
    Duff----------McGeady---------McLean
    -----------Doyke/Keane---------------

I would rather play Doyle but not a chance that Keane will be dropped. He was way off the pace tonight. We need to move on after this tournament. He is the best player the 26 has ever produced but he isn`t up to it anymore imo
