Stokes would never displace Keane in the Ireland team. 4 players constitute 1/3 of our team. As for the other 7 players they have yet to prove themselves good enough at a higher level. A team good enough to qualify for the Euros would surely walk the SPL.

Would McClean, McCarthy or Coleman not be good enough for Celtic either? The only reason I have not mentioned these players is that like the vast majority of our squad they have not proved themselves at the highest level. Although being good enough for the EPL should mean that they would not find it to big of a jump to perform in the SPL.

We dont really need more midfielders and he is no better than what we have got.

    Holding midfielder!

yes he may have scored a few in the championship, but i dont think hes versatile enough, i have see every midfield player we have play more than one position except maybe kayal!

Ki is arguably our 5th choice central midfielder (Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley, Brown all infront of him) and I would rate him above Andrews. He would be a waste of a signing and would only slow down the progress of McGeouch.

all that we dont need midfielders is pure nonsense so our midfield is beyond improvement is it??

I'm going to call bulllshit on this one. Not only is Keith Andrews not going to improve our midfield at all, but I can't see anyone signing up until we've sold a few players first.

File under "link Celtic with every Irishman who has ever lived" pish. One of these days we'll be linked with Ed Byrne and that * who presents MOTD2.

it's not just the press that link us to Irish players, our fans are constantly doing it as well.

However, Keith Andrews is decent and plays the box to box role very well from what I saw of him at Blackburn particularly. With Maj gone we don't have much experience in our squad and he'd be a good addition. We expect Ki to move on at some point over the summer so why not purchase another centre mid?

He's * Irish or not, he would be a benchwarmer up here so it would be pointless signing him.

better player than he's being made out, good engine, very good leader on the pitch, type of player who's head wont drop playing away to motherwell on a rainy tuesday night in november.

I think he can do a good job for us, an Irish international on a free, can score goals from midfield and do the dirty stuff aswell, think he could do a similiar job to what Barry Robson and Paul Hartley done for us and they came with very little fan fare aswell.

I wouldn't mind if we sold Ki and brought in Andrews to replace him on a free... leaving a lot more funds to buy a CB, Forster and a striker.

given marketing potential I don't think we'd let Ki go for less than £5 million. Would be a nice wedge and Andrews would be an excellent free replacement.

A 31yo defensive midfielder? I'd be slightly underwhelmed if we were to sign this guy.

I see him more attacking than that tbh.

He's not the greatest footballer in the world, but one thing I will say is that he does like to shoot from outside of the box - something we have lacked in a central midfielder since Petrov departed.

Wouldn't be excited if he signed, but wouldn't be too * off either.

    :37:

It's not his age that's the problem. It's the fact that we already have 2 or 3 players capable of playing that position(Kayal, Wanyama and Broony). What's the point in signing another player in that position? It seems like a waste of resources to me, unless one of the 3 players I listed is leaving.
