This is the guy who marked Zidane outta the game in the 97' CL final. Not saying Kayal doesn't have potential to be great, but Lambert was great and then some.

I'd literally only change the goalkeeper from Seville and that would give us the best team of this millenium, no doubt in my mind. There hasn't been a player since to have bettered any of those in that side.

Lambert was the driving force for us during one of the most succesful era's in our history. He is a Champions League winner, no many others who have played for us in recent teams can claim such an accolade. He was a brilliant player, can't believe people would have Kayal, after 1 full season with us, ahead of him.

Thompson was better than Nakamura. Probably scored more free kicks and longe-range shots as well as being fast, good in the air, an excellent crosser, hard in a tackle and passionate. Moravcik was brilliant, no denying that, but your team wouldn't work without Lennon and Lambert in midfield - the back 3 would be horrible exposed without that kind of cover from them 2.

    Agreed.

Thompson over Naka any day of the week.

Moravcik and Naka would be a tactic mowbray would have deployed

nakamura was better than thompson , and with the level of player in my team around him , he would have flourished.
thompson did not score more free kicks , and nakas corners and crosses were better. and naka was actually great at finding the killer ball .

Lennon as a player is massively over rated on here. i would have Petrov ahead of Lennon everyday of the week.

I love these kinda arguments! Always get you humming and hawing. My opinion, Thompson gets the nod over Naka every time. The Lennon Lambert point is a good one in that we have 3 at the back. That being said, if you're needing a creative spark you go for Lubo over Naka. What a 2003 squad that would have been! I'm gonna say, they would have had an extended run in the CL rather than going all the way in the UEFA Cup.
