Bell played the game of his life in the cup final but although he's a decent keeper we could do a lot better for back up.

I'd say big FF is staying, read a few of his twitter comments today and I got the feeling he will be here next year.

Id rather have reliable Zaluska on the bench earning a decent wage than Gordon who will be one of the highest earners and is injury prone.

Came on here to post exactly that. It would be stupid not to sign him purely on injuries, who's to say he won't stay fit for the whole campaign?

But as Marky said, I'd be more than happy if we had one of those 3 keepers between the sticks next season.

IIRC Gordon broke his arm which would have put him out for a good while, not sure what other injuries he's had but unless it's a recurring injury then I wouldn't be too worried about signing him.

hasnt he had recurring knee problems? even at hearts if i remember correctly.. sure someone will confirm

    http://www.soccernews.com/when-will-craig-gordon’s-injury-woes-end/73005/

this link confirms the knee probs but the quote at the bottom says it all, still could be a great keeper, he is still relatively young for a GK get him in asap

"No less than Italian goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon once said that he could become one of the best goalkeepers in the world. That’s quite a compliment from one Gordon’s self-proclaimed heroes. Let’s just hope for everybody’s sake that the Juventus stalwart is proved right".

Get him signed. Am fed up with Lurch's delaying tactics. He was very solid this season but Gordon is a level above him when fit.

Forster is the main man. His stats over the past two seasons speak for themselves. We should be attempting to get him wrapped up on a permanent deal at all costs.

That's the issue. If Gordon didn't have such a tendency to get injured, then we'd be salivating at the prospect....in fact, he'd probably be a starter for a much wealthier club.

last two words some it up for me. why risk going for a keeper who has played very little football over the last couple of years when we have forster who has been outstanding for us for two seasons.

forster isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but he set a clean sheet record in his first year and beat it in his second. that to me is a successful couple of seasons :50:

I dont think its a tendency really. He broke his arm twice. Just bad luck. Its not a Mark Wilson situation where there is something chronically wrong with his legs. Lurch is a decent solid keeper but the stats lie. He is nowhere near our best goalie over the years. He had good stats last season and he was very shakey for large chunks of that season. He came on a lot at the end of last season and this season but he is more of a reliable plodder than an amazing goalie. Despite his lifestyle and a dodgy patch last season I would still unfortunately have to say that Rangers have a goalie who is a level or two above Lurch. Gordon is on the same level or a bit better than McGregor. I dont want Rangers having a better goalie than us.

Big Fraser isn't going to sign!

To get Craig Gordon on a free would be a tremendous piece of business, but I'd maybe look at bring in Kello as a back-up, as I don't rate Zaluska too highly.

Zaluska is more than capable back-up IMO.

i don't think he is anywhere near a level or 2 above forster. if he is better at all then it is marginal.

mcgregor has cost them goals and points this season - hand on your heart tell me one goal or point we dropped this season that was down to a mistake from forster?

the only time i can think of is in rennes and imo it was more cha's fault than the geordie goalies.

i'd go as far as to say he's the best no.2 i can remember us having at the club. usually if your number 1 is injured you're bricking it for the next couple of games but i'm always confident with zaluska in the sticks when he's called upon.
